Beretta 950 22 short

No real idea They stopped making the 950 I believe several years ago I have 2 in 25 Then went to a DA/SA in 25 I don't like it and I still prefer the 950 . I have a Astra Cub it 22 short and its a ball to shoot But I have to get on dealer to keep me some CCI shorts in stock.

I was lucky enough to find a 950BS with the 4"bbl.

No, I don't know when Beretta stopped making them.
Years ago I bought one from a friend in 22 Short. I still have it. At one time Academy was having a sale on Remington 22 Short and I ended up with about 14,000 rounds.

I like the little gun. The grips are cracked but I never got around to trying to find new ones.


This is an interesting 950 story.
Some time back, on another web site, a poster was catching grief because he said he had been shooting at bowling pins with his .25 950, at 100 yards. He said he wasn't hitting them (more than a couple times as I remember) but he was getting close enough to scare the pins.
A couple posters were all but calling him a lier, nobody could come close to hitting a bowling pin at 100 yards with that gun.

Always looking to shut up a "know-it-all" I thought I'd see what my Minx would do at 100 yards.

I didn't use a bowling pin but a target large enough that I could get an idea of what kind of spread I was getting with the little gun. The white pasters mark the 22 Short hits. As I recall I missed the whole target about 4 or five times but I'd say the little gun will "scare" a bowling pin at 100 yards.

I finished up with shooting a S&W Mod 60. It didn't miss the silhouette, but hit everywhere but the head.

I have a 950BS in .22 Short. I'm a fan of the little gun, its perfectly reliable with high velocity ammunition (CCI CBs won't cycle it) and extremely fun to shoot.

My department recently sold off all our old Berettas and switched to (*gag*) .40 S&W Glocks. Our old duty guns were 96FS pistols, plus the PD had several 84F pistols for detectives and command staff in adition to their issued 96FS. For some reason the PD also had the little 950BS .22 Short. Nobody seemed to know why, or when, it was purchased. At any rate, not being a fan of either the .40 S&W or the .380 ACP I had no desire to purchase my duty gun or one of the left over 84Fs. The little .22 short caught my attention, so I asked the chief how much he was planning to sell it for. The answer was $75. I wrote out a check to the city right away. I'm very pleased.

I had a 948 in 22 LR, great plinker, sadly first wife got it in the divorce.

Go get a paper target and see what you can do at a hundred yards. I more than scared a few pins -- or I should say clay pigeons -- with my 2.75-inch Ruger Security-Six. Anti-gunners for years have written about these snub nosed revolvers having only "table length" accuracy (meaning that they were only good for settling gambling disputes). Of course I doubt any of these glib leftists would care to stand at a hundred yards and let someone take a few shots at them with these "notoriously inaccurate" pistols!

I pity people who never had the chance to pick up a Beretta 21 or 950. Just think if these guns had never been available, then suddenly they were. To get a gun that tiny that would actually work would be outrageously expensive had they not already been in existence. I only regret that I didn't buy a bushel basket full of them! Maybe Beretta will do something stupid like selling all the tooling machines to Taurus like they did for the old Model 92! They weren't very bright to do that, as now people can buy 92s with a better safety system and for less money. It would be great if more companies would make small pistols that work...and getting them to work is a huge part of the equation.

I had a 950. The slide tore up the web of my hand pretty good. The short wouldn't penetrate a 1/4 inch plywood sheet so I sold it. It did conceal well.

According to Blue Book production discontinued in 1992.

That funny I went out the other day and the CCI hi vol 22 short from my Astra Cub blew through 1/2 plywood. I was about 10' when fired I was surprised my self. I read that these Hi Vol 22 shorts from a Beretta were low 900FPS That reason I went out a shot the board .Astra Cub about same barrel length.

I had a .22 Short Minx several years ago.
The Minx was an early pre-1968 version of the 950 that didn't have the side mounted safety.
Super reliable little pistol, I used it while running a trapline.
It would reliably dispatch critters that didn't drown on the trapline, plenty powerful enough.

They were still making them concurrently with the DA versions in the middle 80s that's when I bought my 25 acp. The small Berettas and most quality small guns are very accurate the big limitation is sights.

The CCI .22 Short 27 Grain HP averaged 906 fps and the Aguila .22 Short 29 grain RN averaged 896 fps out of my 950BS.

I have one in 22 short, a Jetfire that does not have the lock which is older than most. Its one of the most fun little guns I have to shoot.

There's a Beretta 948 for sale right now on this form.

Thiokol is a fair man to deal with.
