Went to the local gunshop this afternoon, and saw a really nice little Beretta for sale. I've been wanting one for a while now, but didn't have the money on me. No problem, they let me give them $50, and said I could come up with the rest latter and they'd hold the gun for me untill then. When payday comes around I'll head back with the rest of the cash...

Anyway, it's a Beretta 950 Jetfire .25 ACP, and looks to be either new or only fired a few times. It was in the "used" section...

So now I need to find some goodies to go with it. Pocket holster, ammo, spare mags, that sort of thing. Does anyone know of a good place to look for that sort of thing? Normally I get my stuff here:

www.MidwayUSA.com

But they didn't have alot for this particular pistol.

I'm also not sure what kind of ammo I want to use. Any recomendations?

And finnaly, I need to decide if I want to reload for this caliber. Factory ammo seems expensive for such a little round, so I think I might try it...

The guy to go to for pocket holsters is Mike Meredith at PCS (Pocket Concealment Systems). I have one for the 950 and one for my Seecamp; both are very well designed and made. He is in Baltimore at 410426 9004. The only pic I have is of his IWB for the Govt. model which I own and have attached.

I have had my Jetfire for a couple of years now & I have really learned to like it. It's been reliable & (in its own way) fun to shoot! I've been shooting Horandy 35 grain JHP's ;) Congrats on your new addition!

Thats true they are no longer making them. :( Thats why I bought mine about 1 month ago figured before they become hard to find. :D

How long can I expect this thing to last me? Can I practice with it fairly often or will it break after a few rounds? I was thinking of getting a Tomcat at first, but I head alot of storys about cracked slides and that sort of thing, not to mention that it's twice the weight of the Jetfire...

I've only put 66 rounds through mine, so I'm no help to you on the
long-term durability question. I figured the Jetfire for a last-ditch
in-your-face "nostril gun." You probably don't need to practice
that much for shots at five feet and under, even to the head.

Well I now have 4 boxes (of 20 rounds each) of Speer GoldDot 35 gr JHPs, and a box of S&B 50 gr FMJ to try as soon as I pick up the pistol (probably going to be on friday). I'm going to the gunshow tomarrow to see if I can find some XTPs to try out as well. I'll start a new post with a range report when I'm all done. I'll see about doing some expansion tests with the different JHPs and post the results...
