My wife and I are looking to adopt a chocolate lab puppy, and we're having difficulty coming up with names for her.

SO...

Does anyone have any good shooting or gun related names for a female dog?

I've come up with Benelli, but I'm not sold ( at least it would give me leverage to convince my wife I need a new shotgun, as I don't own a Benelli)

i've seen the following gun related names for dogs....
remmy, winchester, higgins, magnum, dakota, colt, sig, bellum, smitty, speer, lee, ruger, kimber, scout, dillon, taurus, rossi, etc.

Off the top of my head, stream of consciousness style:
Cordite
Patches
Boomer
Bianchi
Lady Derringer
Damascus
Browning
Lanber
Mannlicher (sorry)
Schnabel
Tikka
Shiloh (my dog's name, by the way)
Arquebus
Lahti
Webley
Whelen

my hunting lab (RIP buddy) came from a place called Tomahawk kennels .. his registered name was Tomahawk's Gun Thunder .. aka Thunder .. thought about that often when I was shooting ..

Love the name BROWNing for a chocolate lab .. or trigger :)

My sister-in-law used to have a dog named Bullet, so named because they found it in such rough shape that they almost put it down.

Powder Burn
Reload
Magnum Charge
Tumble
Hawken
Loader
Rock-Chucker
Dillen
Hollow Point
Full Metal Jacket
Cheek Pad
On Target
Hi Cap
Wheel Gun
9 Shot

Winnie, short for Lady Winchester
Brownie, short for browning or Browning
LadySmith
Big Bertha ;) ask Herr Krupp
Nadine (FMJ)
Frizzen (peope will thing you mean her frizzy hair)

You can't name a dog Dakota unless he/she lives in a jeep in Crested Butte CO.

How about "Annie". You can know it's about Ms. Oakly, others will assume you like musicals.

Browning/Brownie does seem pretty perfect.

Plus you can yell 'John Moses!' when the puppy eats your shoes.

I don't care what you name it, I just want to see pictures of the new puppy. :D

Once had a Lab named Dash..seemed a good fit. Buddy has a Brittany named "Gage".... very fitting also.

Also... lab mix named "Hawkeye"

But I'd like to see some pics too:)

i always liked the sound of Gauge.. hell.. I may name my son that.. if i ever have one.
