for me a clean mod 66 2.5 inch pre-lock. those things are a work of art. whats your pick?

When I built my house I never considered which fraiming hammer was better looking, I wanted something to pound nails. Guns are tools, form follows function.

I really like the balanced look of the 5" M27. The deep bluing and checkered top strap and rib really add to the classy look also

Most any full-bbl K-frame half-lug gets my vote for best-looking S&W Revolver. Unfortunately, I'm starting to think a new 386 XL laying in the case at a LGS is looking pretty gorgeous too... Dang-it... Does it ever end? :D

Yep... Today I just bought my first L frame: A 4" 686-4.

I'm starting to understand the attraction...

The 386 XL will have to wait a bit.

I'm kinda partial to my 6" Model 27, well, maybe it's my 4" Model 15, But, then again I really do like my stainless 2" Model 60. Oh hell, I love 'em all.

Five inch Registered Magnum would be my pick. I also like the look & balance of the Model 15 & 18 with a tapered barrel and walnut grips.

Of all my S&W revolvers I prefer the I frame "Regulation Police" from 1927 or so chambered in 38 S&W. The fit, finish and lines are much more attractive than any of the modern guns. The heft, balance and handling are far more pleasing than any of my others. A "Chiefs Special" J frame is a close second.

A 4 inch Model 29 looks pretty good to me.

But so do the old top-break Smiths from a century ago.

And many other models - I find it hard to choose one "best looking" Smith and Wesson. I like the old large frame top-breaks like the #3s and the Russians as much as the more modern ones. I also have a soft spot for the kit guns, I think they look very good too.

Combat Magnums. All of em, in any barrel length. They are the epitome of handgun art, to me. :)

There is something to be said about the lines of the first Hand Ejectors:

And I, too, will give a shout-out to the old S&W top-break revolvers:

So many beautiful revolvers... how about the other end of the spectrum?

I submit, possibly the ugliest S&W revolver ever made, my new S&W Governor - with Hogue .500 Magnum grips:

To paraphrase that old Jimmy Soul song, 'If you want to be happy (... for the rest of your life...)';

'I saw your revolver the other day... and she is uggg-leee!'
'Yeah, she's ugly, baby, but she can sure shoot!'

Seriously... I thought my long-gone .454 SRH was an ugo...
