686-4 Price Check

Kicking tires at a local store and they have a very nice 686-4 w/2.5-inch barrel for sale. The thing is very clean and the timing is good and it locks up tight. They are asking $479.00 and since I hve not priced used revolvers lately, was wondering how realistic that price is. BTW it comes with no extras and I am located in SW Meeechigan.

I recently picked up two 686-4's. Both of them are + models. One I picked up for $350 locally and the other I got on GunBroker for $415 shipped. The more expensive one was in LNIB shape. The cheaper one had been used but not abused without anything. Ultimately it is up to you. I think there is a slight premium for pre-lock 7 shot models. Both of mine have 4 inch barrels. That price sounds a little high to me. See if you can haggle.

The place just got this in and they are firm on the price. I am going to let it sit awhile and if it doesn't move see if they are willing to come down. After some checking around it is a little on the high side and I am willing to wait.

The price seems high, when compared the ss 686 4inch I just bought for little over $300.00. Mine was the old version with non-pinned front sight.
