I've started a few threads in the past on individual guns but not on the idea in general. Lets face it colt had a great lineup years ago and then they discontinued most of it. I'd love to see some of there revolvers reintroduced. Youd think with the popularity the j frame is enjoying they would'nt have discontinued the detective special but they did. And even the python anaconda and diamondback, all great revolvers and all where discontinued one by one. And theres many other guns im probably forgeting but these are just off the top of my head so what guns do you think should be reintroduced by colt.

I suspect they discontinued most of the revolvers because the design didn't lend itself to being manufactured at a cost that would allow them to turn a profit. Maybe if they did limited runs of some of them again they could charge enough to make them profitable but as far as making money on regular production I doubt it's possible.

A Combat Commander (steel frame), Series 70 would be great.

It takes a serious crew of seasoned experts to hand assemble and fit all of the parts for a Python.

Sadly (from what I understand) these crews no longer exist.
Somebody had to build the first one.

:DModel 1903 in .22/.32/380

Python in .41mag/.357

Trooper MKIII in .45colt/.45acp/.41mag/.50GI

Fitz special in all of the above calibers

Cheers,

Have you seen what a python goes for today? They are stupid for not making more.
A Python goes for what it goes for today because they're not making any more.

I understand and sympathize with the longing for Colt revolvers, but the cold hard fact is that the revolver market has shrunk considerably from what it once was. Out of S&W, Ruger and Colt, there was more capacity than the market could bear and something had to give. Colt was by far the weakest of the three.
