Glock 19 or CZ 75D PCR ....or both?

Both guns are a must have, so good luck on your pick The Glock will be much easier to get holsters(in stock somewhere) and is lighter.....I prefer the simplicity of the Glock for carry, hate decockers with the DA first shot and manual safeties for carry. Everyone is different, but for self defense, I go simple!

Both are proven....I prefer options over simplicity. Have you considered a regular 75B Compact with the manual safety? It does have the steel frame so if weight is an issue to you or manually decocking, it's not for you.

For me, 75B Compact in nickel finish, w/wood grips.....Now that's a classy carry piece, not your run of the mill Stanley hammer.

For target and range use buy the CZ. For personal protection buy the Glock.

Glock 19 for sure for CCW between the two.

Coincidentally, I own both a G19 and a PCR. I've had the Glock much longer (1998 vs. 2007, respectively), so it gets more use, but I have a hard time choosing between the two. I am intrigued by the aluminum grips you can now get for it, but am balking at the price tag.

Always pick both (or more) if that's an option.

Trading one addiction for another? But at least a gun addiction won't kill you, and if you don't like a gun you can sell it and get most of your money back.

The PCR is just a stellar pistol. I think it is the best in the semi-compact 9MM class. The G19 is no slouch either, but the PCR is something special. I've carried the PCR for 11 years, and it also is a good range, and HD gun. Very accurate.

I too have had both and while the Glock 19 is my overall choice for many reasons, the PCR is a fantastic pistol.

Glock has far more aftermarket accessories and working on a Glock is easy

Also, I prefer the smooth faced triggers and both the Glock 19 and PCR come with grooved target triggers. Both can be refitted with factory smooth faced triggers but its far easier to replace a Glock trigger (or anything for that matter) than a CZ's.

The PCR is not really that common of a gun, other CZ's are far more common, is it the P01 that has the accessory rail in the PCR size? To me the rails make the CZ's not so good looking but the PCR has the classic lines of the original CZ75, smooth and stylish. You will always be able to find a Glock 19 but if you come across a good deal on a PCR then why not?

I have a PCR and while not owning the G19, I do own a similar sized G36.

For carry I'd pick the G19 for sure. Or as a beat around truck gun, the G19 would be my choice as well. Of course, the G19 is vastly easier to take all the way apart and service.

If you need metal, the PCR wins. For the beauty of a classically built and styled gun, the PCR wins. If you want to put on some nice wood or G10 grips, the PCR wins.

While the PCR's grooved trigger is a bit abrasive in DA mode, the grooves feels like that of an old school target trigger in SA mode. Which I happen to like at the range.

Both guns are winners. I'm kinda partial to getting metal guns before they all run out.

I have two of the stock CZ mags that came with the PCR and two MecGar mags bought later. They all are 14 rounders with the flat metal base plate. I had to bend down the front lip of that metal base plate to clear my pinky. There are photos all over the web with the base plate already bent, but mine didn't come that way.

So far, I've had no problems with my mags. The feed ammo 100 % and they come out of the gun when the mag release is pushed. Maybe they will be worn out with thousands of rounds, but that is not the case yet.

First, excellent book you pulled your username from. Loved it. Favorite author for sure.


Second, 75D PCR and a Glock 26. Might as well get what I feel is the best of the Glocks instead of one exactly the same size as the PCR.
