i was wondering what is more popular with the people i would probably take a single action cause i hate the long DA pull :banghead: just me though :D

Give me a nice S&W or Ruger double action, that way you can shoot single or double.:D

All of my twelve revolvers are double action. I am tempted right now to get a Freedom Arms 454 though.

By the way, almost all double action revolvers can be shot single action if you want a better trigger pull. In fact I would say a Smith & Wesson fired in single action is about as good a trigger pull as you are going to get.

i like them both. DA/SA is more versatile, but there's something about SA that just sits well with me.

Double action please, preferably Smith and Wesson.

I should go take a snap shot of the 25-yd target I shot the other day with my S&W M-19. (I saved it because of the 2 25-yd groups on it.) It wears a 4" barrel and has the smoothest DA trigger I've ever felt. I almost never shoot this revolver SA, even when plinking at the 100-yard steel plate or shooting silhouettes at 50 yards. Single-action isn't a requirement in my book, but practice is mandatory!

I prefer DA both for the utility of DA/SA fire, but especially for the ease/speed of reloading. I'm also a little more drawn to a nice blued DA revolver in the looks department over single actions.

I do enjoy and appreciate the rhythm and skill of DA revolver shooting, but single-action revolvers make my soul sing. Not even a contest.

I only have a couple of DA/SA revolvers; safe queens. Everything else is either DAO (defense) or SAO (fun and trail). Not that my numerous DAOs aren't fun, or that, say, my vaquero sheriff's .44 wouldn't do in a tight spot, but I do like specific tools for different tasks.

Ummm... last time I checked my DA S&Ws were capable of firing SA if I so desire...

If you can shoot a revolver accurately DA you can shoot anything. ;)

SA for hunting, though I do carry a DA as a hip gun if I'm rifle hunting. Trigger pull on a SA is better all around than the SA pull on a DA, in my experience. For plinking and practice, the versatility of a DA makes for versatility. So I guess my answer is "it depends."

DA as why deal with a out of date idea that went out in the 1850s. Plus you can still SA a DA.

I've always had this mental fantasy where I'm downtown and some ghetto thug pulls a knife or .25 auto on me, only to be looking down the barrel of my .45 colt SA. The "Oh crap" expression would be priceless! :D

I like both. My SAAs are my favorite to shoot but most days I have a detective Special or S&W J frame with me. Guess you could argue they are SA also.

DA/SA revolvers, shot DA almost exclusively. Conversion to DAO is standard on my competition revolvers.
