Just traded a decent condition Norinco SKS(that I paid $175 for) with 20 round tapco mag, for LNIB Savage Axis 223 with Bushnell 3-9 package scope. I am feeling pretty good about this deal, what do you all think?

Money wise, they're prolly close. I would have done it. I like accuracy and you'll almost certainly get more of that out of the Savage.
That is what I figured, but I have never had much fun with SKS(I would prefer an AK) and I really enjoy accurate scoped guns.

While this is just opinion I'd much rather have a very accurate 223 bolt action with some sort of decent optic than an sks any day of the week. I think you did very well and the Savage Axis rifles are great values for the money and have proved to have remarkable accuracy given their price. Sks rifles are numerous in number and if you ever get the hankering for another you can find them at just about any gun show or used rifle rack.

I have both and there is no comparison. The little Savage is a lot more fun to shoot. Got mine at Dick's , camo, scope, $350. You made out alright. Have fun.
