If you want a rail for a tac light, higher mag capacity and decocker get the SP01. If not get the 75B. I got the 75B just for range gun and because I wanted the option to carry cocked and locked if I wanted to. Originally ordered a P01 but then changed to 75B because I didn't want a decocker model.

according to cz usa the sp-01 has a standard safty like the cz-75b...you can get a decocker model, the sp-01 tactical, but the standard has the cz-75b style safty....what i'm really concerned about is parts interchangablity

What do you mean about parts interchangeability? They are two different guns. If you want two guns with perfect interchangeability of parts, get two SP-01s. I can tell you for a fact the SP-01 magazine will work in regular CZ-75 based guns.
You might call 1-800-955-4486 and ask your question there with Parts or the Gunsmith, they'd probably be best able to answer your question.

@ armoredman...i mean like extractors, recoil springs, slide stops ect..you know, parts you'd like to put away to maintain the piece in the event you cant take it to a gunsmith, like a WROL situation.

Ah, some are, some aren't. Slide stops can change between guns you'd swear are identical, such as the P-01 and PCR. Definitely call 1-800-955-4486, press 2 and ask for Adam.

OK, I know SHTF, TEOTWAWKI, what does WROL mean?

Many of the parts are interchangeable. I've used a SPO1 Shadow slide stop in my CZ75B when mine broke at a match. The recoil, hammer and trigger springs can also be swapped. The hammers are a different width and weight. I "think" the extractors are the same. The safeties are different.

which should i get?.....
For what use? More weight up front and a very slightly higher grip with the SPO1's upswept beavertail. Comes with two 18rd (holds 19) mags. The Shadow versions have no firing pin interrupt with makes for a better trigger pull.

TEOTWAWKI: cool

If you're getting just one of them, what difference does it make if the parts are interchangeable between models?

If you're looking for one with more parts availability then the best bet is to go with the CZ75B, there are tons of spare parts for them in comparison to the SP-01.

They're are a few different SP-01 models with differenct configurations in safeties AND frame composition. The SP-01 "Phantom" is polymer framed for instance. Then there is the competion ready SP-01 "Shadow".

If I were buying just a home defense and range gun today, I'd go with the all steel, manual safety SP-01.

You may want to peruse CZ's website, and handgun offerings, to see the different variations of the 75 platform.

I found the SP-01 Phantom to be the perfect range and SD sidearm. With a High Noon Down Under holster and Rock Steady belt it is very easy to carry, too. :)

I have a SP01 Tactical and and 75b in SS. You want a light or laser? Go with the SP01. It is a big @ss gun however.... :)

My 75 looks just like this one

I'm awful green right now...very nice count!

I like my 75s. They're lacking in rail, but as others said, the SP01 is big.

As best as I can recall parts that are directly interchangeable between the 75B and the SP01(B).
front sight, rear sight, extractor, trigger, trigger return spring, mag release spring, trigger bar, ejector housing, hammer, sear, sear spring, firing pin, firing pin block, firing pin block lever, hammer strut, disconnector, mainspring plug, mag brake, recoil spring, all the pins.

I have both. The SPO1 with the upswept beavertail is much more comfortable to shoot, at least for me. The sights are also much nicer.
