Have an lc9 and I like the way it feels in the hand but the trigger pull is long..... I mean really long. Found a sig 230 and i was thinking about getting it. Feels really good in the hand and the trigger is really nice. Made in W Germany, blued.

The only think i don"t like about it is that darn 380 cartridge. Effective ? probably....
If anyone has/had a sig 230, please let me know how YOU like it.

Cheers.

The LCP is a last-resort purpose-built defensive weapon for a very close encounter. There is no joy in its hand grip, sight picture, or the trigger pull. The P232 is a step up in every respect, including the size and weight. It is a legacy design going way back. SIG Sauer now offers similar size 9mm semiautos such as the 224, the 250, and the SAO 938 with a more refined trigger pull, as well as the P238 in 380.

My problem with 380 is reliability. You need hot defensive loads to make it better. But then why not get a 9mm where you can use cheaper ammo for practice.

PS. Just noticed you wrote P230. I have not handled one. AFAIK very similar to the 232.

There are a bunch of good 9mm sub compacts and compacts out there with different trigger systems. Start doing some research and find something that suits you.
.380 ammo is somewhat expensive. If that cost is prohibitive for practicing on a regular basis, don't buy one. {I'm assuming this is for SD}

Go here http://gallowayprecision.com/ruger-performance/lc9-performance-parts/. I've heard nothing but good things about the trigger upgrade.
Upgrading usually includes reduction of the trigger pull. If you ever shoot your CCW in self defense, this will be presented as "evidence" of your intent to kill someone. Ruger is not stupid. Their LCP triggers suck for a reason. Massad Ayoob who is a part time professional expert witness, always writes don't do it.
