I am going to purchase a used blued Sig p230 in 380acp tomorrow.

The gun looks like it has had quite a few rounds though it, is there anything it particular to this pistol I should be looking at? Would it be wise to replace some or all of the springs, and if so is this a complicated matter?

I have never shot a 230 or 232, I just have always wanted one. They are a classy looking auto that really feels great in the hand.

The shop has this one maked down to $299, I thought hat sounded pretty fair.

Thank you collective THR brain, I appreciate everyone's time in responding.

Unless it was very chewed up I would be very tempted at that price, they are a classic pistol with flawless lines.

I'd replace the recoil spring with a Wolff and that would be about it.

That's a great price!

I've seen them fairly regularly at local shows but always at $400. I'm always tempted to buy one for their looks alone as if you put on a pair of Pau Ferro grips from Hogue and nothing made is finer.

Great gun, the P230. I advise you disassemble the gun to examine the slide rails on the frame. Look around the hammer area for wear. If you see evidence of wear, that's OK, but anymore than surface rubs, ie: no gouges, is bad news.
Not a bad idea to replace the recoil spring and it isn't expensive. Wolff Gunsprings has a replacement recoil spring, or just order one from Sig.

I paid $315 for my last P232 and look at that as one of my best buys. I put a set of the Hogue rubber grips on it and never looked back.
