New No4 MKII's...consecutive serial numbers

A buddy of mine has one in the wrapper just like those. Only serial number exposed for inventory and for federal paperwork. He might sell for the right offer.
(only issue is he is married to his blue book for values, LOL)

Those late No4MK2 rifles are beautiful!

I have a '53 Fazakerley that's a great shooter.

Anyone pick out what's wrong in the pictures?

I would recommend leaving the one in the wrap, in the wrap. Those came into the US from Ireland in the 90's and the ones in the wrap sold for a premium. I expect being still in the wrap, it is worth several times an unwrapped one to a collector.
for 40 years I have never found a collector that pays anything but rock bottom prices. if you know some let me know. a collector would give you $100 for each one. the only people paying a high price are regular guys - non collectors

The mag is a No1 type, the grooves in the side carry all the way down. The grooves stop short on the mag that is correct for No4 and No5 rifles. Theoretically the two types are not interchangeable.

The guy I bought the rifle from had lost the No4/5 mag that was serial numbered to the rifle  and threw in a No1 mag that he had adapted. It actually fits and functions perfectly so I have no complaints as far as shooting. But I'm still looking for that correct No4/5 mag.:)

Finally picked up my goods from my FFL. I was able to go over the rifles carefully and everything seems as advertised...one cleaned up and unfired, one still in the wrap.

Thankfully, the import mark isn't to bad.

About two years ago, I stumbled on an Irish contract one that been out of the cosmo only two weeks. It was pristine, and the guy wanted $900 for it. I carry around the serial numbers of those in my iPhone in case I stumble across one represented as such.

He wouldn't take a pistol as a partial trade, so I ended up coming home with a '78 Colt DS in 98%+ condition with box and papers instead. One of those was at the top of my wish list.

I'll still take my '44 BSA No 4 Mk II over those pristine ones, even as beat up as it is. I got lucky in that all numbers match on it.
