And Giron is losing by an even larger margin, with 45% of the vote counted. Too early to call that one but the trend is in the right direction.

*EDIT* Now 62% reporting, Giron is losing by 60%-40%.

Colorado. John Morse concedes defeat in recall election...AWESOME!

It is midnight and I have been up to this point watching for the recall results. That is pretty telling since I am in NW Ohio. The good news? John Morse, the speaker of the Colorado State Senate has conceded defeat in the recall for his vote in favor of gun control. The nation was watching Colorado. While not a perfect win (a recall of both), still a victory. This may cause them to think twice before trying to attack my rights.

Colorado rises again!

For everyone who has been scratching their head over Colorado politics for the past 6 months, please direct your attention to this news article:

http://www.9news.com/news/article/354623/339/Morse-concedes-Giron-down-in-recall-election

For the first time in state history, a sitting state senator has been recalled from office. This recall happened specifically because of John Morse's support for 2nd Amendment limiting legislation this year.

We don't yet (as of 10:28pm Mountain Time) know if Sen Giron is also on the way to the unemployment line, but the news is currently reporting that she is behind at the polls by 20%.

Although none of this directly reverses these stupid laws, I think we're sending a strong message to our legislators that they WILL be held accountable for their choices. This message is particularly LOUD when you consider that the "other side" injected a ton of out-of-state money into preventing this recall, and we still prevailed despite their much better funded position!

Still

The fact that a statement like this

"Morse called the loss of his Senate seat "purely symbolic" during his concession speech in Colorado Springs. He reminded the crowd that Democrats still have control."

Can even exist an have true meaning is the problem with our country right now.

Proud of Colorado. Colorado territory had Confederate troops operating in it's mountains and valleys during the civil war, with some native Coloradoan troops, although most troops from Colorado served the Federal Union.

Good to see this fight, under odds - even though the Federal admits the state is still democratic/liberal held.

Both Morse and Giron have conceded.

A grass-root effort that was outspent 6:1 unseated two politicians, one of whom was the president of the state senate. It shows that recalls can be successful and that the power ultimately rests with the people.

Go Colorado!

I don't want to totally celebrate until G is toast, but my gosh almighty - CONGRATS

You guys told the truth, fought big bucks, upheld the Constitution and are helping to secure Liberty for our Republic.

I hope you are as proud as others around the country are of you.

Now - DON'T STOP FIGHTING

This is great news. Colorado citizens should now go after recalling the governor and work its way down the line recalling the others.

But, the laws are still on the books. Remember that until something changes, nothing's changed. (I suppose the WHO changed but the WHAT hasn't changed) Will the current legislature be able to repair the damage that was done?

I ask this out of curiosity.... I've never even been to colorado.

The Colorado Independence Institute, along with 50 some-odd Colorado Sheriffs are currently undertaking a lawsuit to repeal both the magazine ban and the background check law.

There's also a movement afoot to gather signatures to get a ballot initiative included in the next election that would repeal the magazine ban.

Make no mistake, Coloradans are righteously pissed off about these laws, and a number of people have been working to minimize the laws or overturn them completely.

My state is headed in the right direction.

Now the challenge is to find a candidate for the next Govenor election that will unseat Hickenlooper. He has proven himself to not care one iota about what Colorado residents want, with regards to the gun laws, Nathan Dunlap, Fracking, etc. We need politicians that listen to the people, not try to control them.

I lived in Colorado Springs and Fountain for a couple of years while going to school. I really liked the area, with the exception of driving Academy Blvd. That was a nightmare. I'm glad to see that people have woken up and taken action. Hopefully this message will be received loud and clear, but I think the anti's will only take it as "big NRA money" winning the victory in what would be one of the worst cases of psychological projection in history.

Matt

I am so very proud of my fello citizens from Colorado. Two thumbs up and my warmest thank you for the job you have done.

A bucket of tar and a bag of feathers would have been the icing on the cake but these days I'll settle for the results as being the best possible.

My hats off to the Colorado voters who made this happen.
