Anyone on here own one? Just curious if you are happy with this gun. Advantages or disadvantages of this gun? Is it the smallest 9mm available on the market now? It is very pricey at $700+ especially when you have guns like the LC-9 going for $443.

I gave $379 plus tax for my CM9. I love it. Accurate, flawless operation, lightweight. It earned a laser and a spot in my pocket 24/7. My one beef with it is carrying an extra mag can be a pain due to rounds getting loose and I can live with that as Iusually employ it as a bug or have a backup to it. Had an LC9, emphasis on had. Lack of a decent finish on the slide and barrel in Florida meant it was an utter rust bucket and I tried all kinds of methods to limit that, nothing worked. It was heavier than the CM9 as well.

If they ever came out with a stainless LC9 I would I might get one, I would have to disable the mag disconnect like I did my other. That said the CM9 trigger is superior. Just get a CM9. :)

The Kahr PM 9 I just looked at didn't have that magazine disconnect no fire feature that the LC9 has which is great. The Kahr is stainless and makes the Ruger look like a cheapo gun but this PM 9 costs about $700. What's the difference between the Kahr CM9 and the PM9?

The differences between the PM9 and the CM9 are spelled out in detail on the Kahr home page. The most obvious difference is the dovetailed front sight of the PM9 vrs. the pinned front sight of the CM9, the conventional land and groove barrel of the CM9 vrs the polygonal barrel of the PM9 and the fact that the CM9 comes with only one magazine. There are some other minor finishing differences.

These differences are a frequent topic of conversation in posts trying to determine which to buy and whether the differences justify the added expense of the PM9.

Great thanks for that info. I was just looking at some info at the Kahr P-380. That gun looks alot smaller than the PM9

$700 is too much for a base PM9; you can find them for about $600.

Try to hold them, or shoot them and you will understand the $200 difference in cost.
I'm sure this will upset a few, but the LC9 is a joke of a firearm. Between the safeties, LCI, terrible trigger and size difference between it and a PM9, they shouldn't even be discussed in the same sentence.

I own a PM9 with the factory night sights and like it plenty.
I doubt I will ever sell it.
Mine has close to 750 rounds through it all trouble free.
Trouble free that is unless you use the extra seven round magazine Kahr gives you.
Many of these magazines cause the second round going into battery to missfeed.
I just ordered another standard six round magazine and that was the end of the problem.
Most 9mm pistols are not that easy to pocket carry because of weight and width.
The PM9 is not too bad here as it only weighs 20 ounces fully load and is just slightly less than an inch in width.
And yes PM9's are expensive even without night sights.

I've carried a PM40 since they first came out, its earned my trust. Being an early model I had a problem with the mag catch, but Kahr quickly sent me a replacement and all has been well since.

I also have a CW9 that I bought for Kahr trigger time with cheaper ammo, quickly paid for the pistol in practice ammo savings. I run about 50 rounds a week through it and have had it for over five years. Reliability has been very good, just a recoil and striker spring change a couple of year ago. It gets minimal cleaning, just a wipe down, patch of Hoppes down the bore followed by a bore snake and a few drops of oil on the rails. Last time I took the slide off was to swap out the recoil spring and striker spring, which was its last through cleaning.

I have a cm9 with almost 1700rounds fired , all trouble free. If there a down side its a small +P rated pistol and recoil spring is heavy duty. Not like racking a larger pistol are even some smaller model. recoil can be more than some shoots will control well. Other than that, Its a great small 9mm. I to have other kahrs. The cw9 I have makes for a great iwb CC. easier to rack and shot with a full grip for many. Both are under 375 today and nothing the more costly handgun has that really matters and some of those are a simple parts upgrade if really needed.

I have a PM9, a PM40, and a CW40. Each of mine has had problems, the two .40's requiring a trip back to Kahr for magazine release and tight chamber issues, with the PM9 having periodic failure to feed issues every few magazines. Not a fan of Kahr polymer pistols, don't like the slide stop spring design, don't like the problems with the magazine release that many people including myself have had. For the money, $550+ for a PM, there are much better guns out there, imo.

Thank you for your input. What other 9mm pocket pistols would you recommend that aren't 1911 style cocked n locked but perhaps DAO or striker fired etc.

I noticed that you didn't include the LC9 by Ruger why is this?
The R9 is very expensive what is the reason for this?
It seems to be that the Kel-Tec models are the lowest in cost.
I am not familiar with the Diamondback or who makes that model.

I have two.

A 2003 vintage black PM9 with factory night sights that has about 7500 rounds through it, it's an EDC and is accurate and reliable. When I first purchased it, it was included in a recall, so it made the trip at no cost to me. The only other problem I've had is the original plastic magazine catch broke at about 5k, Kahr sent out a metal replacement.

The second is a 2011 model, which is slightly different. It's a tad longer and uses a different recoil spring system. It has the stainless top with factory night sights and has about 1500 trouble free rounds through it, its my wife's EDC.

Both pistols sport Crimson trace lasers and we generally fire about 50-100 rounds a month or so out of them to stay proficient since they are EDC. Most of the ammo run through them is a moderate 124 gr. FMJ handload, the carry load is a warmish 124 gr. XTP that we run a mag though occasionally. I would run more but haven't seen XTP's for sale for many months.

It's about as easy to carry as a J frame and superior in just about every way in my opinion.

As a pocket pistol, it's been my EDC for 10 years and I haven't seen a reason to switch.

No, there are smaller 9's out there.....like the Boberg XR9S. Costs a little more but well worth it. The bullpup design and longer barrel reduces felt recoil and makes it comfortably controllable.

If I were to continue down the pocket nine road, I would be tempted to look into the Kimber solo, the Springfield xds-9, and the Walther PPS. I might be tempted by the Sig 938, but that is not striker fired DAO.

The problem with that logic is that I do not consider the XDS-9 or the PPS pocket pistols anymore, sizewise and action wise...I really draw the line at the Kel-Tec "sisters" (P11 and PF-9), the Kahrs, the 938 or the Solo.

I just copied a post I had made before. There is a more exhaustive comparison that included the Kimber Solo, Glock 26, Sig P290 and some other guns but I couldn't find it. But anyway there are guns slightly smaller than the PM9/ CM9.

My R9s cost me about $1,200 when I added shipping and FFL transfer.

Kimber is that a very high cost brand even in 9mm caliber?

Can the PM9 handle +P 9mm ammo like the Boberg?
