It looks nice but being a .36 is a deal breaker for me. Im not going to mess with another .36 cal
 
Trouble is its a 'C' series with what it looks like a buggered screw. What it looks like is someone tried to take it apart that didn't know what they were doing. Its still nice and a no reserve auction.

Sounds like a conundrum to me:what: I've got more .36s than any other caliber of C&Bs. Been my favorite for over 35 years now.
 
Huh? GB doesn't charge $1/mo. They hold $1 until you sell something or close your account. I haven't sold anything for over a year and I receive a monthly statement from them confirming I have a $1 balance. I don't know if that's appropriate but it's an on-going $1 balance... not a monthly fee.
 
Mike, they said something about me having a yahoo e-mail account and want to charge me. That was some time ago maybe things have changed. Gunbroker is the better auction site as they usually has 8 pages of these revolvers while Auction Arms usually only has 2 pages.

I'll give it another try. :)

I'm genuinely curious and concerned. Has GB been charging you $1/mo for nothing?
 
Mike, I gave up my registration there in 2008 and I haven't been back since. If I recall correctly they were charging my card a buck every month.

Around here everything is more common for the .44 so ill just stck with it.

The charge is just for verification of your yahoo address to your cc/bank account, that is all.

Yeah i get that from time to time from other places i use my card.

Ive used GB once and i havnt noticed any charge since.

I only used it for a rare gun i couldnt find locally. Then i realized there was a gun show 10 minutes from my home every month and i decided i didnt need to use GB any more. I never really find any deals on there any way.

It might be useful for rare parts so i havnt canceled my account yet.
 
That's good news because Gunbroker has all of these listed. The last time I checked they had 9 pages of revolvers up for auction while Auction Arms had just 2 pages. I'm going to go and register on Gunbroker again.

I recently opened a GB account and had similar questions about the $1 charge...since I do not use or even HAVE credit cards I queried the on-line help desk and they told me I could just send them a check or M.O. for the amount whenever I used the account.

Yeah, that gun is probably going sell at a premium. I can't believe people are foolish enough to start competitive bidding this early on an item with a fixed
end date that far in the future.

Of course the seller has to be lovin' it. I know I would.

Thats what happens when you post something on a forum your interested in and so is the rest of the comunity.

Ive learned my lesson on that one many times. You get bidders that arnt even members of the forum also.

Th OP just did the seller a HUGE favor.
 
It's a nice revolver, it's going to be interesting to see how much the price go's up.
 
I figured that because there were so may cowboy action shooters here on this forum they might be interested and didn't see it on Auction Arm. But that can be a two way street as the more people know about it.

But I didn't think a collector would be interested in it even though it comes with the box and paperwork because of what it looks like as that screw being messed with.
 
I'm not into any "Unturned" revolvers. I want to at least handle them once in a while so I'd have no problem just replacing the screw, but who knows what else has been buggered.

Why would anyone be interested in this revolver at its current high bid price? Maybe Im missing something, but I can go tomorrow locally and pick up a Series C 2nd gen Colt 1851 squareback for $550 thats been sitting on the shelf for months. I would have already bought it, but that small trigger guard is just plain irritating. Besides I like my .44 cal Walkers, Le Mats, Remmies, and my "new" 1981 Ruge Old Army. With that said maybe I should buy that squareback, put it up for auction, and see what happens.
 
I don't know but they are going up in price. Those that bought them in the 70's and 80's as opposed to the cheaper Italian copies may be finally getting to say, "I told you so" But, be that as it may, they are beautiful revolvers that will "Letter" from Colt and the people that shoot them say they are great shooters. My 3rd Generation 1860 Army, the only one I've shot the others just sit in glass display cases including my 'F' series 51' Navy square back, I'll have to say is a great shooter. Lou Imperato the head of what is now Henry Rifles knows what he's doing.

Just think what they'll be worth in another twenty years. I bid on it but at a max bid of only $300.00 dollars I was blown out of the water real early.
