Perfect timing. I just played with my (blue + walnut) 1894C today and wondered how it would look in stainless + laminate like my XLR.

Now I know. Gorgeous. Congratulations, it's a beautiful rifle.

Wow, and it's JM stamped to boot! So many nice blued Marlin 1894's in .357 push 4 figures these days. The money you paid does sound expensive but you can sell that unique model at any time for that number. Can't wait to hear the range report.

Wow very nice! A bit pricey for my limited budget but if it makes you happy, and you can afford it, then it was meant to be. Hope it shoots as nice as it looks.

I have a Blue and Wood 1894C I bought it 8 or 9 years ago and it's still in 90% condition.
I know I could triple the money I paid for it, and I am broke as can be. (If it cost me a nickle to defecate I would need 4 investors.) But I just can't seem to bring myself to sell the gun, or any of my guns for that matter.
Some would say my priorities are skewed but when better days come I don't want to regret making a short term decision.

I don't get why Marlin isn't making more of those and the Camp 9/45's.
They could print money for a long time by bringing a few models back.

I kick myself in the butt every time I think about the Marlin 1894CP models that I saw in Gander Mtn. about 10 years ago. They were marked around $450 I think. I could have afforded it, but I was only a kid and wasn't used to putting down significant money on things, so i let the price tag intimidate me.
They were .357mag as well, with a 16" bbl. A few years ago, the need for a 16"bbl .357mag carbine finally hit the point where I bought a Rossi m92. I'm glad I did because it's a nice rifle, but paying $400 for that Rossi (plus another $100 in upgrades I've made) is still not the same as a real deal Marlin I should have bought when I had the chance. Of course, I could have had a Marling when I bought the Rossi, bit didn't want the 18" bbl. I wanted a shorter one and for some reason, Marlin doesn't carry the 1894 with 16" bbl as a stock item.

You are exactly right, why they vacated the space is beyond my comprehension.

Agreed. I'm looking at it from the perspective of a guy in CT where we are too civilized for most of the eeeeevil PCCs like a CX4 storm which is now banned. But now that I have a 1911, I'd LOVE a Camp 45. One of those hooked up with a red dot sight, would make for a nice HD gun and companion piece to my 1911.

I would knock down old ladies to get to that there lever gun.

One of my buddies has one in blue with a 16" bbl (he bought it for $400 bucks or so about a decade ago I think) and it is AWESOME!

Maybe we could petition Remington/Marlin/Freedom Arms (whoever it is) to put these back in production...although its possible that they have laid off the workers that were capable of making them the way they used to be and that is the reason why they haven't put them back on the market again.

To be honest, I was almost expecting Marlin to announce the reintroduction of pistol-caliber leverguns at this year's SHOT Show ...

Can I ask you to do a range review with it and your ruger 77/357 mag please I would like to see an honest review involving the two :banghead: can't find one anywhere about the accuracy and I have to say your recent 357 mag acquisitions are beautiful now to stock up on ammo
