Ive always had great luck with MBC bullets. They shoot awesome and they have a great customer responce and follow up. But my last purchase was on the disappointing side. I ordered up some 230gr softballs for my .45, and well, they're pretty bad. The bullets had a lot of cast flash and slag on the bevel base. When seating, they varied back and fourth. At first i thought my press was the problem. But after breaking it down and then trying new heads, i came to the conclusion of its the bullets. So i started to sort the loaded rounds and found they do have a rythm. They will be either 1.280 1.270 or 1.265. They dont ladder up or down but hit those numbers within .001. Has anyone else seen this with recent MBC orders?

Nope. If you're unhappy with them, please let Brad and Joanne know. They always have had incredible customer service.

I've always had good service and quality from Missouri Bullet. If there is any issue, call them and they will take care of it.

If you intend on returning them, you need to contact MBC within 10 days of receiving the order and request a RMA. All returns are subject to a 15% restocking fee and they reserve the right to charge a higher restocking fee, up to 50%. All shipping charges are the responsibility of the buyer.

I must have missed all your posts about the good bullets you've received from MBC.........

Bullets cast on a Bullet Master machine, which is what MBC uses, come from one of 16 cavities of the bullet molds. There are eight 2 cavity molds on the carrier, so if one mold happens to have a sprue cutter work loose, that means that for every revolution of the carrier, there will be 14 good bullets and 2 which may have some flashover on the base. Or if a flake of lead gets stuck between the mold blocks, the same situation occurs.

The bullets are taken from the Bullet Master collection bin and emptied into the collator on top of the Lube Master, where they're run through the sizing and lubing operation. This is done by the multiple thousands per day. It's impossible to inspect each and every bullet during this process, but I can assure you that if any stand out upon cursory inspection, they'll be pulled from the batch.

It's unfortunate that you got some that weren't perfect, but you should contact the company you purchased them from before hitting the keyboard to complain.

Hope this helps.

Fred

If anything, from this post I have learned that MBC is a great company with a loyal following, aside from the OP. I will do business with them.

yeah i emailed them. My intent was not to bad mouth them. I have always been extremely pleased with the quality and price. I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else, i heard they had recently moved and upgraded. thought that might have a play in this. This wont stop me purchasing bullets from them, they are a great company and have a great product. But even the best have a slip up, and i know they will make it right.

I've also had problems with Missouri bullets. Lost quite a few pounds of bullets in transit. Contacted Brad several times, sent emails with pictures and never heard anything back. They don't walk on water. Sorry.

They don't walk on water. Sorry.

No manufacturer walks on water. I think what folks are sayin' here is that manufacturers with a history of great Customer Service and resolving issues with their customers, be given a chance to do just that before being trashed on an internet forum. Now when one goes thru all the proper channels and the manufacturer shrugs off a response, then we certainly need to know that also.

I don't think the op is complaining at all. He simply asked if anyone has gotten a bad batch of bullets.

Listen to otto and you may as well return the bullets and include a blank check made out to mbc.

I don't think that policy is for improperly made bullets. That policy is for someone who changes their mind about the order once they get it, not for damaged bullets.

Yes, Otto is probably not the enforcer of companies' published policies. ;)
Another vote for take it up with the company before airing dissatisfaction to the online community.

Yep. Let the man ask a question for Pete's sake. Sometimes it's nice to know...before you make a call or get an email response...whether your situation is unusual or the norm.

Most manufacturers will tell you that you're the first one to report such a problem ( I really get a good laugh out of that one).

I got 1,000 IDP #6 for 9MM had some cosmetic problems. I emailed them and told them about it and told them that the ones I had would work fine for me but I just wanted them to be aware of the problem. They replaced them anyway.

I used to have a cast bullet company but gave it up a couple years ago. Sometimes things happen and quality suffers. The company has to bite the bullet and resend another order in those cases, it's to costly to have the bad order shipped back so you usually eat that cost too.

Missouri will most likely make it right, they've been in business to long not to listen to a customer.
