I'm about to load those Hi-Tek 2 coated 9mm Missouri Bullets I just got but I'm not sure which load data to use. Do I use jacketed data, lead data or treat them like plated bullets?
I appreciate all the input but the main reason for the thread was what load data to use. I did a lot of research on the use of coating on bullets but none of the research turned up which data to use.Ok then...never mind
Silly me I thought by the tittle of this thread, loading hi-tek coated bullets, guys might want to know about what's out there.
With the dicussion about obturation/hardness I thought the use of swaging, rather than casting, is an important fact to mention.
To your point
Talked to MB and they will be also offering coated bullets WITHOUT lube grooves, so I'm waiting for those.
By limiting this thread to newly/just released MB coated bullets only, I don't expect many have any info to add.

Very good. Comparing two sets of data is always better than data from a single source.ArchAngel, I will be backing up your results with my own shortly as my MBC order will be here by next week. I haven't used MBC coated bullets yet, but all the rest of my coated bullets use either my standard lead charge for that caliber or mid-range jacketed to replicate a JHP.
Nowhere in this thread did I ask for specific load data or charge weights. I clearly asked for which type of data to use as in lead bullet data ect. I never asked for a charge weight and would not ask for that information on an open forum.I try not to post load data and can say I've used the exact same receipes as cast bullets of same/like weights for coated, with good results for 9mm.
I went with the other Hi-Tek bullet, the 124gr LRN one. That might be even better since we will have results from both to report to the forum...Which bullet style did you end up going with? I ordered the 125gr SWC design, but I have some Bayou Bullets 124gr RNs that I have already loaded successfully.
