Their labor costs are lower, as are other production costs, but their quality is darn good, and while I still think the are a good value, they used to be a GREAT value. I have had CZ pistols since 1996, and have always been impressed.

Ya I kind of wondered the same thing when they came out with there plastic line of pistol but they seem to be just as good as the all steel versions.

Poly or Steel...they don't cut corners and their designs just work so well. Interesting prior observation...yes, they use to be cheaper but have moved up the "price" food chain. I paid pretty decent for mine (CZ 75 SP-01 Tactical - Steel gun) - $650 and WORTH EVERY PENNY. It is my #1gun.

I have an SP01, and recently bought a P07. I love them both. In fact, the P07 is one of only two polymer guns I've handled and fired that I truly enjoyed - think this has mostly to do with the fact that they're a traditional hammer-fired action rather than striker-fired (the other one was an HK USP9).

What amuses me about the P07 is its small size and light weight, while still having very low felt recoil (IMO). While I admit the slide is fairly thick, the grip is essentially the same size as my Sig P6 - but it carries DOUBLE the rounds of the P6.

I tend to buy pistols, try them out, and get rid of them - but the P07 is a keeper. I'll be shocked if it doesn't have typical CZ longevity, i.e. they just don't seem to have problems.

I'd be shocked if the major components didn't go at least 10x that many rounds.

I have a P-09 on the way that I might actually shoot a little bit. I got it off a prize table, never heard of it before, and started reading about them a little bit. I'm impressed with what people are saying about them, and I like the design as well. It is entirely possible that these are the absolute deal of the century right now in terms of a performance to cost ratio.

I have a P-07. Very solid gun.

The new one with the improvements of the P09 added is very appealing to me.

I'd rather have a Compact L or SDP with manual safety but they are both over twice the price of a P07.

Best gun I have owned! It is my #1 carry gun at this point. I have had a lot of polymer guns and none compare to this beast!

The weakest part of a CZ 75 design is the slide stop. There were reports of some breaking off after 6 - 7 thousands rounds, some lasted 15-20 thousands without any hick up. They are easy to replace anyhow.
Some early polymer frames (RAMI, P-07 Duty) bulged, not influencing the functioning though. The CZ changed the frame composition, adding glass fiber. That happened about 5-6 years ago, if I recall correctly.

The P-07 Duty is a remarkable pistol that is quite inexpensive. Very near the top of the plastic pistol segment. I have much more expensive pistols that are not "better" in any respect (if the longevity is there. But who can afford enough ammo to ever know? (grin). The trigger on the P-07 is worth the admission price.

own one with the longer barrel setup. long trigger pull, but super light and smooth and breaks crisply. i wouldn't call it the best trigger pull ever, because of the long tension free pull, but if it was short...it would be in the top ranks, imho.

i've put many thousands through mine and it's held up fine. points well, ergos are solid. only thing i don't care for is the texture on the grip. it's rough enough, but when out in the florida hot and humid environment........ hands get sweaty. it tends to slide around a bit in my grip no matter how i hold it unless hands are dry. having said that not enough to malfunction or cause trouble in anyways. more of a very minor personal annoyance.

also mags i have will only hold 15, even though was advertised as 16....doesn't matter though as 15 is fine and the springs will wear out faster with full loadings anyways.

that's all i got for complaints.....

I got mine used (like new, in the box with everything included) for $275 a few years ago. Great gun. The only problem I ever had with it was some gunk in the extractor claw. CZ helped diagnose the problem quickly and efficiently.

I believe the frame "bulge" still affects the new P-07's, but I am not 100% sure. I think it is reported to not be as bad as before, but the sources I have seen say that CZ will not replace the newer bulging guns as it is inevitable in the design and DOES NOT affect function at all. I wish I had the article on hand to post but maybe someone with more experience can chime in.

This is still a reason I shyed away from the P-07... at least for now. All steel CZ's on the otherhand

There is no frame bulge in the current P-07.

Where was the article from? Or was it just Internet chatter? I have never heard of any problems with the new P-07 frames.
