Picked up a new CZ 75 P-07 DA/SA 9mm last week for $449. Just had time to run 50 rounds thru it Sunday. So far I'm impressed to say the least not only does it shoot very well for its size it has one of the best feeling grips on a polymer pistol I've shot to date. Grip is 1.150 wide when checked with calipers.

I will have to do a side by side test soon with my G19, but at this stage I feel like my groups are a good amount smaller at 25 yards with the P-07 vs G19. Trigger pull in SA mode is showing 4 LBS 7 OZ on my RCBS trigger pull gage. The Magazines from my CZ 75 SP-01 fit and lock in but forgot to take one of them along to see if they function. At $449 the P-07 may be one of the better 9mm deals out there right now.

The slide is much wider than a typical CZ at 1.06". The entire slide looks kind of meaty, almost like it was designed as a 40 S&W. A wild guess is there will be one in 40 S&W in the future.

well i don't quite know who will win the ugly contest, this is one of the few guns that might qualify as a canditate, i guess i can get used to it, but i still can't get over my CZ 75B. too pretty.

To be the Glock 19 killer it will have to convince at least a million other people.

At $449 I would still rather have a used Glock 19 given all the years it has proved itself and the vast after market world for Glocks.

Not knocking CZ but its first attempt at the polymer market the CZ100 and 101 were not barn burners and had terrible trigger pulls. They felt great in the hand but...So did the Sigma...

Still kudos to CZ trying something new, we can always use new guns and competition.

"Is it an optical illusion, or is the slide really wide on the P-07?"

I handled one the other day and I came away with the same impression. I love my P-01 and went in willing to plunk down $$ for the P-07 but I left unimpressed and with the cash still in my wallet.

Glock killer would be the Ruger P95--similar size--a little bit more weight--and a way better price. They have sold a buttload of em.

Don't see Glock or Ruger hurting because of the other though.

Had one. traded it for SP101. It shot nicely, and I enjoyed it, but it's not a glock 19. Doesn't have the aftermarket support of a glock. I couldn't find more than 1 holster for it. Didn't conceal well in the generic blackhawk i did have for it.

And I got mine shipped from buds for $409. $450 is too much for it. $500 that is being asked on gunbroker is absolutely out of question for it.

It was really comfortable to shoot though.

Great YouTube videos, dakine. I'm going to tell my daughters to watch it - I've been trying to get them to the range for years. Now that my eldest is living alone, guess what, she's become more enthusiastic about range training. That and the difficult to ignore changes in the South Florida environment.

Your daughter was shooting the hard targets, those little multiple bullseyes. I'll start mine with the silhouettes, which are allowed in our range.

I have a G19, but have been thinking of getting a P-01 too, given the good reports I've been reading about it.

Correct, .40 S&W version in 2010.
Should have an even wider appeal then.

I'll stick with 9mm:)

P07 isn't a Glock, and that is good to me, I am not fond of Glocks, even though I qualify Expert or Distinguished Expert with the Glockl 17/19 every year at work. Glock started off gaining police contracts the hard way, like all others, and so has the P07, or didn't you hear? The Phillipene National Police force just adopted the P07. That department of 113, 928, (2007), apparently ditched the Glock for the P07, soooo, maybe the OP is right? http://www.czub.cz/en/news/the-succ...-gun-championship-in-the-philippines-new.aspx
Mine works well,is accurate and fun to shoot.
PS the gun is very close dimensionally to the P01, and that HUGE trigger guard actually isn't that big in person, go figure.

I love the CZ75 but don't care much for the P series.

I feel the same way. Even though I know the P series are all great guns, just can't get over how gorgeous the regular 75/85 pistols are. And the PCR, it's like a scaled down 75D, looks and feels so good. And doesn't ever fail.

Don't see Glock or Ruger hurting because of the other though.

Is any company in the firearms business hurting? They all seem more stimulated than any other industry even without any government money.

I WAS impressed with the P-07 and almost bought one for sub $400.

When I got on the CZ forum and read about all of their reliability issues...I passed. I haven't regretted it yet:D

I think that the fact that the P07 is a DA/SA hammer fired and the Glock is a DAO striker fired will make a difference with more than a few.

Who cares? Glock makes a good gun. CZ makes a good gun. So does HS/Springfield, Colt, S&W, SIG, etc. Any will serve you well. All have pros and cons.

Pic of my P-o1 with a blade....IMHO a good low priced firearm. The finish is just paint but it is good.
