A great "pair" of defense pistols

Nice camera work and vid. M&P is on my shortlist for next purchase. +1 on sending your work to some gun companies to look for a paid gig.

Larry Vickers & Ken Hackathorn on the HK45

Not to be flip but did you actually read the article? The first time Ken speaks he addresses 1. the problem they were attempting to fix 2. that Larry was still serving our country at the time and 3. they come to the conclusion that asking HK to produce a 1911 wasn't going to work. Here's the...

Larry Vickers & Ken Hackathorn on the HK45

I'm always amazed by the internet commando responses to articles like these. Most of them boil down to 1. didn't read it 2. didn't understand it or 3. don't know any better. O.P. --- Thanks for sharing/posting. The article is actually an interesting read into the development cycle of that...

What Auto do you use for Home Defense and why???

A HK45 and a USP 45 Tact. are my 2 Home Defense handguns - if I can't get to the SG first. Why? They fit, they shoot better than my ability to wring it out of them, they're uber reliable and I bought each at a price that would make the 1911s I was looking at blush (under 800 OTD for each).

    What's your "never buy" gun?

You won't ever see a Glock, Taurus, Ruger Auto or any 1911 over 1000 in my possession.

    HK P30L....any good?

The p30's street price is more like 750. I pick mine up end of this month and it cost me 685 plus tax (725 OTD). All the angst over the prices of HK tells me either some don't know how to shop/negotiate or just plain have a hard-on for HK. My HKs have cost me on average 100 over the price of...

Bad Guys are heavily armed in Houston

What a bunch of drivel. Your forum "situational awareness" should be going off like mad because you're defending a bad position and doing so in a progressively worse manner. Talking about ways in which one could avoid this poor guys predicament is one thing but you're way off base here.

$300 NRA life membership is back

Sam Check has cleared. Looks like they found your packet or at least got to it. Thanks for the effort and extending the offer. CWBY

What would you vote for the most accurate(non 1911) 45 Auto out of the box

Most accurate out of the box? Given the OP's conditions sounds like he's asking production handgun v. custom. The 3 I'm most accurate with including the 1911s i've owne/shot are... HK45 USP Tactical Sig 220

    USP Tacital Match trigger opinions

The reset can be adjusted on the Tactical by adjusting the trigger stop. If it's too far use the method below from the manual. "The trigger stop for the USP Tactical pistol is located on the trigger and limits the trigger travel immediately after the hammer has been released. It is adjusted by...

    Opinions on H&K's USP Compact

The price is very high. 600 should be more your target price for a well cared for used 9mm USPC. At that price I'd look for the newer HK 9mm the P30. For 733-750 shipped you can get a NIB P30 9mm from a couple of sources. There are more than a few used P30s on the market asking 725.

    Close Combat Article--by Robert Bolt.

My comment was tongue in cheek but really lets at least read the article before we start dissing the old masters. The article stands in stark contrast to 2 of your main points (restraint v. crushing blows and the chop strike area) in particular. 1. The first part deals with police actions...
