If the CZ-97 is anything like the CZ P01 I have. Then I may have to give it a try! I love my PT-1911 and the CZ P01 feels so good in my hands and shoots superbly....

jpwilly -

Own both and shoot them a lot.

Think of the P-01 as a Shelby Mustang.

Think of the 97 as a Buick Roadmaster.

And if anyone is wondering about Glock, think

Dodge Dart.

Most accurate out of the box? Given the OP's conditions sounds like he's asking production handgun v. custom. The 3 I'm most accurate with including the 1911s i've owne/shot are...

HK45
USP Tactical
Sig 220

ruger1228... +1 on that...best shooting .45 I've had

Another vote for the Sig 220, in my opinion they are the most accurate gun from the factory, their triggers are second to none... 1980's and 90's German versions are incredible.....

Personally, for me, it'd be the EAA witness Elite Match. I'm going to be getting a G21 pretty soon, and if it's as accurate as my G22, it'll be on par with my Witness.

One thing I've noticed about the 220 is they shoot a wide variety of ammo in nice tight groups. There are other designs that might shoot one load better than another but the 220 seems to like most of them. The other thing is Sig barrels are as good as you can get in my opinion, just very high quality.

SIG P220 Carry... Great balance, great recoil and VERY ACCURATE!... One of SIGs best pistolas!!

I've shot these 4 side by side all same ammo all same distance.

XD45 Tactical
HK USP
Glock 21
CZ 97

Out of all these the CZ 97 was the most accurate and had the tightest group for me.

I've got a stainless Ruger P90 that I got about 10 years ago or so brand new for $300 with 4 ruger magazines and a few boxes of ammo and a gun cleaning kit that I shot one box of rounds through then it's been on night stand duty every since except to be cleaned and change the mag's out so I don't wear the spring out. I guess I should mess with it more and see how accurate it is but my others are so much cheaper to shoot lol.

The stock .45 that shot the best for me was an HK P9S. Of course, they haven't been made in a while, so one would now be quite long out of the box.

SIG P220, right out of the box.

Years ago I had a Browning BDA (SIG P220 by any other name), and a Colt Gold Cup. Even with different shooters switching between the two guns, the BDA had no trouble holding its own, accuracy-wise, against the Gold Cup.

Glock 36 I was very surprised it's like pointing you finger. Does not have the class of a 1911 but it does shoot.:D

My GI-grade 1911 shoots rings around my P220.

The 220 shoots inside the rings. Best .45 I've ever owned.
