They are definately helpful. I have one and use it to check out the house when I hear something. I reccomend one for every house.

I am sorry to hear about this. I agree wit hthe OP. I think his baton would have been better to use, but I wasn't there so maybe it wasn't an option.

Having contacts in is really bad. It will kill your contacts and flushing your eyes with water is useless. They are really hard to get out of your eyes because pepper spray make your eyes want to stay closed.

Sounds like you did every in a calm cool manner. Same thing I would have done. It's always the big guys who want you to call the cops. I think it's more of a scare tactic to scare you out of calling them.

I think it's a bad idea. Anything could happen when you are sleeping. My hands are all over my pillow and underneath it while I'm sleeping.
