    My Glock 17 Gen 4 problems...Part Deux

I had written previously about the multiple malfunctions of my new Glock 17 Gen 4, with stovepipes and ejection failures every 25 rounds or so. Well, I sent the gun back to Glock for repair or replacement and spoke to them today. The sum of their helpful response..."six to eight weeks...

My most unreliable new gun ever: Glock 17 Gen 4

HexHead, you hit it on the head. I think Glocks are, in general, well designed, consistent, durable, reliable guns. I think there is a design flaw that needs correcting in the Gen 4 17, as I'm sure they will. The 9mm is over-sprung for target ammo. My 17 Gen 4 is back in Smyrna, GA, and I...

They told me to send it back to Glock Technical Service...I'll let you know how it goes.

My most unreliable new gun ever: Glock 17 Gen 4

In answer to Hk Dan, most of the casings fly to the right and ping off the lane divider at the range. A few have passed close to my face, but no direct hits...and I shoot lefty.

My most unreliable new gun ever: Glock 17 Gen 4

I think fastbolt and ckone are right on the money...the recoil spring is too heavy for the gun. Glock is going to have to revise the specs on the spring. I also left a message with Wolff Gunsprings begging them to come out with an appropriate aftermarket recoil spring assembly for the 17 Gen...

My most unreliable new gun ever: Glock 17 Gen 4

I purchased a new Glock 17 Gen 4 and it has been the most unreliable out-of-the-box gun I have ever bought, and I have many (Glock 19 Gen 3, S&W M&P 9, HK P30, Kahr PM9 and P.380, Les Baer Premier II, Ed Brown, Kimber Ultra CDP II). The Gen 4 Glock now has 500 rounds through it, and continues...

    Ruger SP 101 question

The cylinder release pin is recessed a fraction of a mm into the breach face. The front latch on top of the yoke pushes flush. The pin on the end of the ejector rod seems to be scraping more of a groove than usual on the breach face on it's travel to the release pin, but it is moving on it's...

    Ruger SP 101 question

Is it normal for cylinder on the SP101 to take a bit of force to open, and a bit of force to snap back into place? It's a new gun, shoots and functions well, but definitely takes more pressure to open and close the cylinder than any of my S&W revolvers.

Back from the range with my new SP101 and...

Just returned from the range with my brand new Ruger SP101 2.25" .357 snubbie and it was a pleasure to shoot. It has the Crimson Trace grips, but I was mainly shooting with the iron sights. First used Federal .38 sp 130 gr hardball, then Fiocci 142 gr .357 Magnum hardball. Shot 100 rounds of...
