The majority of the guns I've ever bought were used.
The best advise I can give is to never buy a 1911 used unless you can shoot it first or know for certain you can get your money back if it's a POS.
Buy new and you hardly ever recoup your money if you decide to sell.
Buy used/shop wisely to...
Do it! Forget the SBR paperwork/hassle and get a Shockwave Brace (just follow the Empirical rules).
There's something comforting about having a short, easy wielding "pistol" with optic and flashlight that can put 30+ rounds into play if needed.
The brace helps with the control ability over just...
I traded an XD45 to a fella on another local web forum.
He had a mint two tone S&W 99 in 40 caliber that I had the hots for so we worked out a meet, couldn't quite figure out why he was willing to drive an hour and a half for a meet but didn't think much of it. It was after work and just before...
That's sad. I had a Stoeger Cougar 8000 that was made in Turkey that had similar quality.
This looks like big corporate putting production pressure on the Plant manager that puts pressure on the supervisors that put pressure on the workers to churn out a product.
What's really going to suck is...
Go with the LCP. I recently picked up a new M&P Bodyguard and it gives occasional light primer strikes. The primers from the rounds that do fire are so light I'm surprised that they fired at all. This seems to be a common problem with the Smith from doing some online research (Hickock45 had...
The Shield 45 was the reason I justified "to myself" trading my 40 Shield for the 9mm version.
Can't have two Shields that close in caliber... ;)
Now I'm just waiting for prices to come down another $50.
The last 45 Shield I saw was going for $478 + the kings fee.
Story or no story, I just placed an order for one.
I've been looking for one locally for a few months to no avail and finally found the ones Classic Firearms has.
Less than $750 to my door (via FFL and their fee)
Sure beats the $1100 I was quoted at my local shop.:what:
Google has an app...
I've got a 10.5" pistol in 300bk and keep it loaded with 220gr subsonic stuff due to it being quieter and less blasty. I live out in the middle of nowhere and usually grab this rig for checking out what the dog is going crazy about in the middle of the night. (armadillos, opossum, etc...) I...
I've owned the Stoeger and the original Beretta version. Both were great shooting guns.
The rotating bolt is kind of neat but I find the recoil reduction claims to be suspect.
The only difference I could find was the trigger on the Stoeger looked a little rough and unfinished.
The finish on both...
The LC9s is great little carry. The trigger is the best of all the striker fired carrys that I have tried and I've tried about all of them.
I don't find the recoil bad at all but I have really large, meaty hands...
If snappiness is an issue you might try the heavier 145gr premium ammo.
I've...
