Anyone have any experience with this scope? Burris MTAC 4.5-14x42 Cabela's is having a sale soon and this one is going to be on sale for $299, price seems good, but how about the scope?

Intended use will be range only on steel and paper, distances will be known. No competition shooting or hunting. Ranges will be between 200 and 600 yards. Rifle is going to be a .308 Savage Model 10.

Any idea when this sale will start?

I am a Club member and did not receive info on this deal. I'm in the market for optics for a PA-10 carbine build.

Tomorrow. I received their sale ad in the mail and it is there. It's on their store flyer section on their website as well, just select the one that is valid from August 25-September 7.

purchased and installed on WW AR-10 about 8 months ago. Be careful with this one. It was a one off reticle designed for 22-250. the top and sides of cross hair is mil-dot the bottom of reticle is a ballistic hold over style. the scope itself is great but the reticle may frustrate you. I wouldn't buy it again. The adjustments are 1/10 milrad per click. I would really think this one over before spending the money.

They don't make that clear in the description. Kind of a weird combination on the cross hairs.

Yeah I saw that in their manual about the reticle, it is intended to work with fast flat shooting cartridges. Looks like I will hold off on this one, thanks for the help.

So would SWFA be a better choice for this kind of scope? I was checking it out too and liked the glass.

That's where I was originally leaning to, was one from SWFA but saw this one and wanted to check on it first. Now I am back to looking at their line.

I've got this same scope on an -06 and love it.
It's not rocket science to figure out the holdover.
Great scope at a very attractive price...
