    Starting in .308

My Savage Axis shoots both 150s and 168s well. I think I got better results from the 168 but both were plenty good enough for deer. Because of the light rifle and my small frame, certain loads in my .308 had some considerable recoil. I've thought about downgrading to a 7mm08 but missed this...

    AR15 Double Fire

I finally took some free time to take a look at it. I don't know how I missed that the trigger pin was about 1/8" in out of the receiver. I used a Spike's kit and their pins are slightly different. I think I swapped them when I built it the first time. I took the assembly apart and put it...

    9mm luger / HP-38 powder

I've loaded a few thousand 115gr FMJs using the data on the can. It says those are the max loads and to start by reducing 10%. I shoot mine at 4.9.

    AR15 Double Fire

Thanks for the replies. There was some space between shots, so I think it was firing again when I released the trigger.

    AR15 Double Fire

My AR15 is a home build with a Spike's LPK. Today at the range when I fired it, if I held the trigger back after firing, it would fire a second round. I thought it might have been my reloads, so I put in some Wolf ammo and got the same thing. I happened a few times and they put the rifle away...

is there a decent budget electronic scale?

One more vote for the Frankford Aresenl scale. I've been using it since '12 and none of my guns have blown up yet, despite usually shooting close to max in 9mm and .40.

    9mm Carbine...

I have a Kel Tec Sub 200 and Z Skorpion. The Skorpion is by far the better gun. It is a bit heavy for what it is, but it's still not that heavy and shoots great. Almost no recoil and easy to handle. It's happily eaten any ammo I've given it, including several different reloads. I think the...

    Lee turret or hornady progressive

I've had both. I had a single stage, and updgraded to the turret and then the Hornady LNL for more volume and never looked back. Get the progressive, you won't regret it. When it's running right, I can get a cyclic rate of 4-500 rounds per hour, usually a practical rate of about 200.

Newbie Looking for advice to create light target loads

One thing to keep in mind, in my experience, the most accurate 9mm loads are around 3/4 of the way between min and max charge. If you want to down load to decrease the recoil, you're probably giving up some accuracy. Try some lead 147s. it hardly takes any powder to get them out, therefore...

    Back at the bench

After spending some time overseas and moving a few states I got back to reloading after a 20 month break. First loads were for my new 9mm XDS, XDSC and CZ Skorpion. Picked up where I left off experimenting with 95gr. 95gr Speer TMJ from RMR at 1.030" 6.0 and 6.4 Longshot 7.6 HS-6 It...

Attaching a single point sling to an AR

I have an RSA but I use it for my 2 point sling. I wouldn't attach a single point anywhere forward of the stock.

    Lead bullets for 40 cal.

Any bullets made for a 40 SW ought to work in it.

Inland M1 Carbine vs CZ EVO Scorpion carbine

I have an EVO and I love it. It's new and only had a few boxes through, but has been very reliable with them. Plus, mags and ammo are cheap.

    9mm help

I don't have my Lyman book or records today or I'd verify the numbers on this. A few years ago I was working up a load for my 40 with 180gr and HS-6. I'd loaded about 10 rounds every few grains up the load range. When I got to the 8.0gr (not sure, but positive the load was within my manual)...

    9mm help

What the other posters have said If you don't have a manual, I recommend the Lyman manual. I didn't like the way Unique metered, so I moved on to 231 and HS-6. If you're anywhere near Homestead/South Miami I'd be willing to meet up and talk about it in person.
