    Carry Dilema - G19 or 1911

If you're shooting at someone 100 yards away, chances are you're going to jail. I had a G19 and loved it. It wasn't my favorite carry piece. That spot is reserved for a S&W 340PD. I would also recommend a 642 or similar.

Next time the GPS receiver stays home

I am also one of those people that are skilled with a map, compass, and altimeter (military, alpine climbing), but will likely use a GPS hunting this year. To me it's just another tool to make my life easier. I can't think of a good reason not to use one.

    Barrel Length Question...

I recently picked up a T/C Pro Hunter with a 28" 7mm Rem Mag Pro Hunter barrel. I'm now in the process of picking a few factory loads for zeroing and am curious what kinds of velocity and energy increases/decreases I can anticipate for this barrel length. Thanks! Joe

Would you trade a Glock 26 for a Milspec Springfield Armory Ultra Compact?

    I absolutely love Glocks....but would get the 1911. :D

ANYONE HAVE INFO ON S&W AIRWEIGHTS

I have a 340PD and love it. As posted by other members, it does conceal nicely and is soooo small and light that I have to make an effort NOT to carry it. If you're not used to shooting a DA, it will take a fair amount of practice to become proficient. Another option that is cheaper is...

    Compact .45 help

Llama....YIKES! I reluctantly shoot a buddies 9mm Llama regularily (read: 1000+ rounds through it) and have been coercing him to get something different. We both agree that it is a POS. Are all Llamas garbage? Beats me, but the thing does not exude quality in both appearance and shooting...

What Handgun Do You Keep Coming Back To?

+1 Other than a J-frame I own, I've sold almost everything else for 1911's. Sometimes you find a platform that is just so natural to shoot...

Remington 870 Express prone to rust?

I've seen a few at Wally World that had the "brown stain" or rust. Proper care should alleviate this concern, however.

    38 +P....Gold Dot SB <or> Golden Saber?

I've been thinking the same thing about the Safety Slugs, but my neighbors are extremely close and......I'm a little concerned about "friendly fire". :D

    Concealed carry! what gun?

    Excellent post, Bill.

    38 +P....Gold Dot SB <or> Golden Saber?

Have you considered Glazer Safety Slugs? I'm thinking about trying 'em myself. The concept seems pretty neat. From an ammo website... "The Glaser Safety Slug is a high velocity, pre-fragmented projectile, produced in a round-nose style bullet. Against inanimate targets such as wood...

What kind of case do you use for your pistol?

I use a nylon case for range trips only, as well. All other times, my pistols are in a safe or in a holster on me. I think any nylon case will do if you're trying to decide on one.

    Concealed carry! what gun?

+1 I carry the S&W 340PD (the 12 oz. variety) and it is a bear to shoot .357 mag rounds. .38 rounds are easily manageable with this pistol and it's extremely small (read: like a toy) and easy to conceal. I have two good buddies that carry the S&W 642 and love it. I think there is...

    New Springfield 1911's...

I don't subscribe to the idea that a pistol with a tighter frame to slide fit is inherently more accurate, but I do think it might indicate that SA's quality and attention to detail may have been taken to another level. Speaking of reliability....my new Loaded Target has been malfunction...

    Whats your dream carry gun?

S&W 340PD loaded with .38 Specials and an Ed Brown Kobra Carry. I have to admit that I carry the S&W 85% of the time. It's so small and concealable that I have no excuse not to carry it.
