+1

Other than a J-frame I own, I've sold almost everything else for 1911's. Sometimes you find a platform that is just so natural to shoot...

Universal Self-loading Pistol .45 automatic, baby!

Just wanted to add:my HK USP 45 fullsize is a mainstay.12+1 rds. of big ass .45ACP JHP goodness on tap.Mine also wears Meprolight nightsights. It is my night time home defense pistol.

Springfield XD45 acp, followed by my other XD's. I trust them, and I trust both my wife & I's ability to hit what we're aiming at. Plus, they all fit the same C-tac holster for CCW.

Dan Wesson Pointman 7 1911 - for consistantly drilling holes in the center of a target.

Ruger Redhawk - for making lots of noise, smoke, recoil, and have all the little kids pointing at the hand cannon going off.

Taurus PT-99 - for plinking with a 30 round clip installed.

Oh the choices :neener: !

Like many, I buy, sell, buy, sell. My longest lasting and still with me is my P99. That's the one I keep coming back to.

Glock 23, kimber 1911, gotta have them both.Bought a g22 then a g27,sold the 27,sold the 22 and thought I was done with glock,then bought the 23.:banghead:

There have been a lot of excellent pistols mentioned and some of them are favorites of mine but el supermeo has to be the Browning High Power for me.

S&Ws, carried a Model 10 at work, represented the Dept with a 586, shoot bullseye with a K38.

keep coming back to Ruger SAs though, Always wanted a Colt SA, but those big tough rude boy Rugers keep reeling me in.

For carry, I keep going back to one of my 5" Kimbers.

As far as buying, I keep going back to glocks. I've had two second-gen G17s (at different times), but I traded them in on something. Now I have a G19. If I can keep from trading it in on something else, I can keep from having to buy another to use as a beater.

For pure, unadulterated fun it has to be my 1858 Remington repro by Uberti. I have the el cheapo millennium finished one.
I take it out to the canyon, where there is no one around and shoot up an empty beer keg.
When my session is over, I take the keg back to the house.
Cheaper than a psychologist...

Glocks. Lots of different Glocks. Yes, they are less than attractive (took me YEARS to stop saying UGLY!) but they work. Always, every time. The Glocks work all the time with no tuning or fiddling with them. They are accurate and lightweight and all that, too.

I have other handguns and I love 1911s, having grown up on them when there wasn't anything else. I also have some Sigs that I keep coming back to. Oh, and K and J-frame Smiths, too. They are great and I usually have one around... What was the question again?;)

plain and simple, 1911A1.

have loved the design since i first fired one at 15, (not long before that i couldn't have told you anything about pistols beyound "that's a revolver and that's a automatic"). the dern thing just feels right to/for me on too many levels to explain.

my biggest gun regret at the moment is that I no longer have one in my safe, and have been unable for reasons not entirely under my control to get a new one.

I own many different handguns but I always measure them against a Sig Sauer. In my opinion, there is no finer handgun than a Sig.

I will second the nomination of SIG-SAUER classic P-series handguns;
in particular the .45 ACP P220A, and the 9m/m P228~!
I want this to be my answer, but I never seem to have the extra cash when a good P220 is available.

So, my reply is my P228 and my 2.25" Ruger SP101.

I enjoy shooting and carrying both, but lately the SIG has been getting more use.

I started with handguns in the late 60s at a very young age. I 6 inch 19 and a 6 inch 17. Those were my companions out in the country for a long time.

I went to 1911s but eventually I went back to my old frinds the K-frame revolver.

Later came the Astras, then the Sigs (I as in a shooting using at 226). I quickly abandoned the Sigs and made the rounds with other insignificant guns but I kept going back to the revolvers.

Much later I went to the Tanfoglios but I kept finding myself going back to the revolvers.

Not for some time it has been the CZ-75B and I thinik this one is going to stick but I still love the Smith revolvers. I love them so much that I carry both at the same time.

CZ-75B and Smith&Wesson revolvers have become good buddies being carried togeter. I still feel the need for more Smith&Wesson revolvers and I need a CZ-75 compact in the worst way.

The fact that I walked away from the Smith revolvers so many times then came back tells me something. To never walk away again.

What do I keep coming back to? This baby. no need to look any further than my handle to realize what it is.:D

A 1911 in .45 (and a S&W Revolver in .38) - Whoops, thats 2:scrutiny:
