    I have just purchased a Savage 111 in 7mm mag. It came with a scope already mounted but I decided to take that scope off and put a better one on,.....the problem being that my new scope is a Bushnell Trophy XLT and will not fit in the mounts on the gun....it seems the mounts need to be moved...

    I didnt say less than a 30-30 I said "NO MORE" than a 30-30...and until you shoot it yourself dont tell me how my rifle shoots...I posted my original question for honest opinions not for somebody's sarcasm.

    It has no more recoil than a 30-30. I shot 150 grain federals at 3400 fps and it was great!! I would recommend doing this if your rifle is light and kicks alot....as for the "dead blow hammer" comment.....maybe if the lead could move,YES....but it cant and it done a great job at killing the...

    dosent affect the balance really at all....some but not enough to make a difference...rifle shot well with less felt recoil than my g/f's 30-30.

    Putting a scope on a lever gun is like hauling your wood home in the back of a Dodge Shadow.....you can do it, but its just no supposed to be Lever Gun= Iron sights Bolt/Semi= Scope Dont ever forget it lol
