    Bond Arms Stinger: Thoughts?

I’ve got the 9mm. Often goes with me in the pocket with the slim polymer grips, loaded with a couple of CCI shotshells, especially down the slope to the lake in the backyard as I walk by “rattlesnake ledge.” But it’s very quick to change to a cartridge with a bullet from a speed-strip in the...

Anyone see one of these derringers - Modern Sharps

Has one of these Iver Johnson “pepper boxes” ever actually shipped? The’ve introduced it more than once at the Shot show, but somehow they never quite release it.

    5.7 pistol?

There are 4 features that I absolutely love about the FN 5.7 as compared to the Ruger. Yes, the Ruger is a great gun and I’ve got many Rugers. But I prefer the FN version of the 5.7. 1. The loaded chamber indicator. One of the best out there. Very positive - You absolutely know when the...

    HK P30 and VP9

I couldn't decide on the V1 or V3 trigger, so I bought two P30s, one of each. Thought I would like the V1 (light LEM) more, but after shooting them both now several times, I'm shooting the V3 (DA/SA) better and like it more. Yes the DA trigger pull on the V3 is heavy, but it's smooth and the...

"Judge or Governor only" Lehigh Defense 45 Colt load

I've not done the BB test. I can't get my chronograph to read the BB. While the penetration does not mean the load is effective, the Judge nay-sayers typically use lack of penetration for the shotshells as the argument. What I'm seeing is adequate penetration of the buckshot, flattening of...

"Judge or Governor only" Lehigh Defense 45 Colt load

I would hold my judgement of this round until you see what your own favorite load does in this gel. I'm using Perma-gel ballistic gel. I think this stuff is great, but I believe it's significantly denser than the FBI standard ballistic gel. I just did a test with a 45 GAP Silvertip in the...

"Judge or Governor only" Lehigh Defense 45 Colt load

Anybody seen these yet? It's a 45 colt cartridge made by Lehigh Defense. With a 220 grain machined copper slug, longer than the standard 45 Colt - only to be used in a Taurus Judge or a S&W Governor, due to the longer chamber to fire 410 shells. I just shot one in ballistic gel today...

    feeding the .410 revolver

00 or 000 Buckshot in a 410 shell are stacked single file in the shell - when they are shot, they tend to stay together. At 7 yards (typical gunfight distance) even with the Remington load, the buckshot pellets are going to stay within a "torso-size" target. At 7 yards, from a Judge, the...

    feeding the .410 revolver

The BBs in the PDX1 410 load spread out so much in a Judge they are pretty much worthless past 5 feet or so - and you might hit something you don't want to in a self defense situation. And I'm not convinced about the penetration of the discs. Now in a 410 shotgun, those PDX1s have enough...

    feeding the .410 revolver

I'm not so sure I'd recommend the Federal 410 loads. 3 out of 4 Judges I've had would lock up the cylinder with Federal 410 handgun shells. I investigated and found it was the Federal brass in the primer area swelling to the point that it binds between the cylinder & the back of the frame...

    9mm carry

    I don't often carry 9mm, but when I do, it's a Kahr PM9.

Tell me about/sell me on the .327 Federal Magnum

I've chronographed the Speer 115g load at 1400fps out of my 3" SP101. I think that speaks for itself.

Who makes the best 357 revolver?

I read a review of the Rhino, and the reviewer said the DA trigger pull wasn't very good. But then I handled one at the recent NRA show in St. Louis, and I thought both the SA and DA trigger was very good. I'm quite interested in the gun now, thinking about picking one up.

    Dust off your crystal balls

It actually worked perfectly. Just no one wanted it. However they are still making ammo for it, and quantities are rising.
