Utah
Utah is on the way towards Constitutional carry. Also included is a bill to protect those who open carry from prosecution:

I called Senators Hatch and Lee this morning to push that prescription meds be discussed in any future hearings regarding gun violence. I heard from both that it would definitely be a part of those discussions. When those hearings will take place they do not know yet.
This is exactly why I started the thread. If you feel the exclusion of prescription drugs should be part of the discussion of gun violence I'd encourage you to write your Senators and Reps stating this. Presently there are plenty of reasons to write and I feel this is just one more.
TNBilly,
It felt a lot more like a song and dance than a reasonable discussion to actually do something about gun violence. We heard a lot from the reps about exploring all avenues to find solutions and at the end of the day it was mag limits, universal background checks and a possible AWB...
I guess common denominator depends on having all the information. The VA Tech shooting involved a perpetrator who had an Rx for meds but none was found in the system. However, it has also been debated that people coming off these medications can have more severe side effects such as...
After watching/listening to today's Senate hearing I am amazed that psychotropic medications were barely discussed and that there was no panelist representing that segment of the debate on gun violence. This omission prompted me to start another round of letters to my representatives. An...
Would this bill make it out of committee?
Here's the current listing of the Judiciary Committee:

With list weighted in favor of anti-gun Democrats, is there any chance it will die in committee? Are there any procedures the pro-gun...
Did anyone catch Jake saying he wasn't a "gun guy" and wasn't "into guns" at the end of the show? I never expected a contestant on Top Shot to not be a genuine firearms enthusiast. Then again, a lot of the on-camera commentary might just be to enhance the show's drama.
Here's an update on the progress of this in NH. Details of the veto concerning deadly force are spread throughout the article and it just says the House will "take up vetoes" next week.

Did the Gatling gun challenge seem like a practical application? Remember the horse-and-buggy challenge where they used a rifle where a shotgun would do a better job. It seems like they are setting up challenges that are, well, challenging but not necessarily the best showcase for the tool.
Just reviewed Brady's rules of scoring and noticed the demerits...if Alaska and/or Arizona can get campus restrictions removed they'll be in the negatives.

Am I the only one who went to the range today without reading the rules first? :cuss:
At least I got some practice. I really liked this one although I'm thinking it could be a bit pricey for the centerfire group.
I'll jump on the bandwagon here for the Volquartsen hammer. In my 10/22 it made a huge difference. The trigger pull is light and smooth. Interestingly though, I made this same modification to my Ruger Charger and while it does have a lighter trigger pull than the factory setup it is not as...
