I'm right there with ya on that CZ Hammer Coach! I don't do cowboy action shooting or anything like that, I just find it to be an incredibly attractive firearm and it seems like it would be a hoot to shoot. If you ever pick one up, be sure and post about it!

If I understand correctly, that's how weatherby shoots their test targets, 3 shots out of a cold barrel. So I think my question is still valid, if a brand new gun with a cold barrel can shoot a .75 three shot group, how much harm is cleaning the barrel going to do?

I can understand why people clean their guns out of sheer compulsion, how they get theraputic value out of it, and so on. But to not clean it because it's sighted in? I understand that with rimfires, a little fouling is good for groups. But centerfire? I bought a Weatherby Vanguard before...

I agree with most of the above. Take whatever he'll give you, sell it off for what you can get, and cut your losses. And learn from it... don't loan money, period. You're just enabling someone elses bad habits. It sounds like your fiancee maybe saw this coming, having an outside perspective...

I agree, .40 S&W goes with Glock. And when someone says 30-06 to me, I envision a hunting rifle, not a battle rifle. But that's just me. And didn't Garand actually lobby for the .270 and the military opted instead for the 30-06?

These polls aren't very scientific, but it is interesting how the results are distributed, kind of an inverse bell curve.
