Thanks.... Currently I am waiting for my 5" Fusion to be completed. Even though it is a custom build I will still field strip it before I put any rounds through it. I will also be sure to do that with any other gun I purchase in the future.... Lesson learned for sure.

Well, a couple weeks ago the gun showed up at the dealer along with a STI LS9. After comparing two for about an hour I decided on the Hawg. The Para seemed to be of much better quality. I am looking at these, The Gun Digest Book of the 1911: A Complete Look at the Use, Care & Repair of the 1911 Pistol, Vol. 1 & 2...... Has anyone read them? If so would you recommend them? If not what other reading about the 1911 is good for the first time gun and 1911 owner?

What do you guys think of this gun? I am thinking it may be a good alternative to carrying my full size 1911 in summer or as a back up. Any experences, rumors, pros, cons?

Thanks everyone! Wow there are lots of options out there. I might order a Milt Sparks belt in a few months. In the mean time I picked up a leather belt from Cabelas. Boy this thing is rigid. Now I have the freedom to leisurely look around for a nice belt.....
