Ok, thanks Tamara, thanks Majic. I knew the diff between the L- and N- frames, but din't know if the cylinders were diferent sizes or not.
Do either of you know of a source for these clips that is cheaper than moonclips.com's price of $34.95/10?
Just got my 646 out of lay-away today. Can't wait to shoot it!
I have one question you folks might be able to answer: will the M610 moon clips work, or do I have to get the M646-specific jobbers?
Cheers,
Ed S.
I have one of these on layaway at Darr's in Chattanooga. It is lightly used, probably fewer than 200 rounds. Does $445 after taxes/TICS sound like a good deal?
I intend to have it reamed to 10mm like G33 had hers...the thought of an L-frame 10mm was just too good to pass up!
Cheers,
Ed S.
I got my P228 in Dec 2003 for $450 (not incl. tax/transfer fees). It is a LE trade-in, featuring the old K-Kote finish, one 13-rd. preban mag, SIG-Lite night sights, and box.
The two ProMag 10-rounders I had would not function properly until I cleaned out the thick grease that's all over the springs. I sprayed them out with some of that ultra-quick-drying gun spray cleaner and now they work fine.
To Mr. LynnKCircle:
I have a .45 ACP Blazer "squib load" that was fired in my S&W M1955 Target revo a few years ago. The case is split about halfway down each side. It didn't damage my pistol, as I have seen the "squib" phenomenon before and immediately ceased fire. The bullet was driven...
What about a Ruger 10/22 magnum?I would think that nine or ten rounds of CCI hollowpoints to COM would be very likely to discourage any BG !
Thanks, Thisaway
I have fired thousands of 9mm, .40, 10mm, and .45 Blazers over the past 10 years and have had only ONE bad experience. I had a .45 "squib load" in my S&W 25-2. The case split about halfway from the mouth to the base of the hull and drove the bullet about 2-3 inches into the barrel (6.5-inch)...
I can't recall the manufacturer...
...but there was (is?) a company which makes revolvers chambered for the .45-70 Gov't rifle cartridge. The pic looks like other pics I've seen of such. Quite esoteric.
I have two
One beautiful M1891 1917-vintage Tula ($110), and a M91/30 1943-vintage Izhevsk ($65). Surprisingly, the 91/30 seems to be the better shooter, even though it is literally as rough as a cob.
I believe what Jim Keenan meant to say was "improperly hardened frizzen face". The frizzen actually produces the spark when struck by the flint held in the hammer. Freudian slip there. ;)
