Simple question.
For me I occaisionally pack Grandpas 1971 charter arms 38, undercover in 3 inch.
or a 1943 1911, dad gave me.

Your turn!

The oldest of my carry guns is only about 8 years old. A couple are less than a year old.

I only got into handguns about 7 years ago when I started carrying an SP101. None of my family was into guns except my grandfather, and unfortunately his wife made him get rid of his guns a long time ago. That last part makes me sad.

So my pathetic answer is 7 years old, maybe 8 years if my Ruger happened to be built the year before I bought it.

Most of my CCW guns are of fairly recent vintage but on occasion I will carry my late'70s Colt Combat Commander or my mid '80s S&W Model 649.

A Colt 1903 model model M in .380 made in 1925.
There are fewer sharp corners than the Walther PPK/s that I used to carry.

Oldest gun that I carry, (carry/hunt with) is my Remington 1900, made in 1905,

My "go to" carry/hunt with gun is my Krieghoff Semper, made in 1935,

My oldest handgun that I carry/hunt with, is my S&W mod 19, I bought it new in 1971,

Up until a year ago I often carried an East German Mak from 1966. Before that I carried a Colt Trooper .357. I still carry the Mak in my glove box quite often but I have lighter options for a CCW now.

1940's S&W .38 Safety Hammerless, 1940's S&W .38 Pre-model 10, 1950's Colt Detective Special, 1960's S&W Model 10, 2005 Taurus 445 (.44 Special snubby).

The Old Fuff tends to stick with what he's used to. :D

Hand ejector (cylinder swings to the left to load or unload), or top-break?
Also what is the serial number - usually stamped on the bottom of the butt?

Once in a while i'll carry my 1076. After a couple of hours my back says "don't do that again.'

Not sure is the older part of my EDC my Emerson or my Clackamas Kimber, but If I had to guess I'd say the Kimber.

Let's turn this to a pic thread

S&W model 10 HB

I was sworn in 0n 4/5/1982 as an LEO.

I was issued a S&W heavy barrel model 10 about 1 month later,it was NOT new.

It was then about 10 years old ,so that makes it now 53 years old.

I still carry & shoot it [ it is one of THE house guns ] and it has TENS of thousands of rounds through her.

Did need a new firing pin about 20 years ago.

Would stake my life on it anyday.

I only carried it for one day just cause I could.
A Webley Mark III, .38 S&W from 1937. Normally I carry a Colt Series 70 1911.

My Pre-Model 10 gets carried once in a while and I shoot it for IDPA sometimes.

It was made in 1936.

I actually really, really like shooting and carrying it.

Makes me want to wear a suit and fedora while I drive a '36 ford coupe to the office.

YES. You get what I do. My 1928 Rem 11 makes me get a Al Capone/Elliot Ness kinda feeling. Makes me want a flat housing 1911, ford model A and a Thompson or BAR. Set me up like Clyde Barrow.

It depends on how you count. My carry gun is an M1911 (one of the early Kimber Custom Classics). I also occasionally carry a Colt Detective Special. If we go by the date of introduction, the M1911 is older than the DS, but if we go by the date of manufacture, the DS is older.

But I guess the champ is my Colt New Service -- introduced in 1898, mine was made in 1906 and mounts after-market adjustable sights. That isn't my "carry gun" per se, but when I'm in the woods, it's usually the gun on my hip.

S&W Airweight 37, circa 1960. Not daily (why wear down nice aluminum when I have a chromed P11?), but no hesitation.

Once, a S&W double action .32 circa 1885, but that was not really for self defense.

WWII era DS every day. Once in a blue moon, something older, or a modern gun (1961 SW .38 snub). For sweaty jobs, 642.
