I ordered one of the Hi Power MkIIs from AIM Surplus, and it came in today.

Pistol was actually nicer that I expected, and cleaned up just fine. I have to say, it was one of the dirtiest guns I've ever cleaned, but no big deal, because I was gonna clean it anyway.

Purchased a brand new Mec Gar 15-round mag and am ordering a new recoil spring tonight. Can't wait to take it to the range.

I have one and it shoots well and is very reliable. I hope you have
real good luck with yours.

That's nicer than I would've expected, too. I heard the AIM guns were visually rougn, but that looks cool - just the right amount of patina. Have fun!

Nice! Hope it's a good shooter. I love these surplus Hi Powers that have been available for a while. I got a Mark III a couple years ago with a scratched up epoxy finish. Otherwise there is little wear, just the cosmetic scratches in the paint.

Yours seems to have the larger ambi thumb safety and "ergo" grips like the Mark III. I've heard very late model Mark IIs came like that.

I also got four 15 round Mec-Gar mags which work great.

And a lanyard loop!

Man am I a sucker for lanyard loop handguns.

Or

Saddle ring rifles and carbines.

Factory side slings

Scabbard tabs

etc...

I received both MkII and MkIII Hi Powers from Aim and could not be happier, the II is an older and well used pistol the III like new inside and scratched enamel outside. The enamel blasted right off and a very light buff resulted in pistols that look as if they were just packaged at FN ( excep the II rattles a bit). New grips from Altamont gave a finishing touch to the pistols. The III is a super tight shooter while the II groups open up to 5-6" at 25 yds. Buth pistols are now prized shooters for a fraction of new price.

Looks to be in decent shape, especially after the cleaning! My Mk.II, purchased new when they were first introduced, while not anywhere near as nicely finished as a T Series I once had, is by far the better shooter with it's great trigger (right out of the box), improved high visibility sights, and easy to reach and apply thumb safety.

What is that that's stamped on the underside of the receiver in front of the trigger guard? Looks like you've got a great shooter there! Enjoy!

Here's my baby from a few decades ago....

The lettering appears to be Mach 1, Knoxville, TN. A quick Google search turned up a Mach 1 Arsenal custom gun shop in that city. Found a post on another website where someone also picked up a Hi-Power from AIM Surplus with the Mach 1 stamping on it.

These threads always make me kick myself for not getting one back in the 80's when gunshow tables and gunstore shelves were as full of Hi-powers as they are with polymer 9's these days. :cuss:
And if i could be assured of geting one as decent as the OP's, I prolly woulda grabbed one from AIM a long time ago, but their "full disclosure/worst-case-scenario" pics always scare me off. My luck, that's EXACTLY what I'd get, LOL!!

Mach 1 is the importer. Nice gun; I really need to get a shooter-grade Hi Power one of these days.
