I spotted a pretty clean one of these pump rifles yesterday while unsupervised in a gun shop. Seems nice, not what I'd call a beauty but I've seen uglier. The only thing negative I could find about them is caution with FMJ round nose as it may cause primer ignition of the one in front of it in the tube.

Anyway the specimen is very clean with only the slightest of wear where the pump action glides. They want $850 for it.

Any thoughts on these?

I have one and it's solid, it's also really heavy for it's size.

No complaints except mine like .357 better than .38 loads, the .38s have trouble feeding on occasion. Never a problem with the .357s

I have not seen one in years, though I don't recall the price tag I remember the amount game me a sticker shock and I immediately placed back in used gun rack.
It isn't worth $850 I can tell you that.

if its a good gun and your ok with the price then just buy it.

to me they are not worth it buuuut, they are the only pump action 357 there is.

that i know of.

i would guess in a few years they will bring 1000 or 1200 buks.they wont be worth that then either but they may well sell for that.

to me id like to have one about 500 buks worth. however it wont do a damm thing a 200 buk savage 3030 pump wont do.

I would buy that in a heartbeat; I have wanted one for years. I am a fan of .357 rifles and that one combines many of the attributes I admire.

Price is kind of a subjective thing. I always think of my friend who mocked me for buying a Ruger Super Single Six because he had just picked up a Heritage Rough Rider for 1/3 the price. Mine still works, his is broken, but for as much as he uses it he still feels I am the fool.

If you want it and can afford it, I say buy it and enjoy it!

my timber wolf has been a fine carry rifle and loves 140gr bullets at near top loadings. the only thing i had to get used to is that the action has to be open to load or top off the magizine, i think i paid around 300.00 for it. eastbank.
