So I see that currently we are at "elevated" for threat level.

When doing errands on the weekend I usually travel with a 9mm and my German Shepherd. Given the current news reports he said yeah bring the M&P15 along also. :D

Can't get much better prepared than that! Hope you, and everyone else has a safe and peaceful weekend and Independence day.

If that's a loaded magazine it wouldn't be allowed in many states. I'll leave it to the OP to determine if he's legal or not.

Might want to throw a blanket over that if you're leaving the vehicle. Presuming that would be legal.

It's definitely not immediately accessable from the front seat. The driver would have to either get out of the car or jump over a row of seats. I would consider it not immediately accessable.

Best course of action: stay away from crowds and crowded interstates during the holiday.

We are fully legal. I took the course, paid the fee, and was issued the permit by the state.

It also includes any other hardware out of sight. :D

Nice dog!

Here we have to store that evil scary gun unloaded in a locked case to transport it.

I feel your pain man. If the Berkshires is the one I know, I fled that state when I couldn't take it any more. I had my FID when I was 16 and my .22lr from KMart. I could walk right up main st with it in plain sight to the train tracks that took us to the pits. Now, if I go visit my mother I have to scour the vehicles before I leave in case I missed something.

My only two thoughts

1-if your dog is telling you to bring an ar15 you might want to talk to a loved one, a friend, maybe a professional.

2-that is a big friggin dog and if it told me to bring an ar15 ...... I damn well would do what I was told. :)

I was skeptical at first, but most of the time he makes perfect sense. :D

You're getting your personal-protection-profile data from a site called "terror-alert.com"?

REALLY???

C'mon. Even Faux SNooz is better than that. And they're Right-Wing Fearmongers for the masses!!!

'Paranoia-will-destroya' or however the lyrics went...

I think I would pity the fool who tried to carjack your vehicle with your four legged friend in the backseat!

Have a safe and happy Fourth of July weekend!

AnselHazen, your SuperSize German Shepherd is about the size of one I met many years ago ... except that one appeared to be all muscle.

In the latter half of the '70s, offseason/early Spring, at about 2am I had quietly discovered and "trapped" a meatcleaver-wielding miscreant in the lower level of the beachfront hotel where I worked. For some reason I clearly remember that I was carrying my 151- model s/s 2¾" Ruger Security Six that night ... perhaps because if I had walked thru that last door I probably would have had to use it on a fellow human. <shudder>

After the 2nd Precinct guys arrived and the festivities were winding down, I found myself riding the elevator back to the Lobby level in the company of a K9 Officer who I did not know and the biggest German Shepherd that I had ever seen (he had chewed on the BG shortly before).

The dog was looking at me intently but appeared friendly. I said something to the dog like "Hi, buddy!" ... BAD IDEA! Good thing for me that K9 Officier was prepared for what happened. <chuckle>

Even though I have always loved and naturally gotten along well with puppy dogs (all dogs to me are "puppy dogs"), I learned that night to not make eye-contact and/or engage K9s unless their Partner OKs the transaction. WHEW! :)

I am currently in Paris. Police and army presence at all attractions. Today it was 3 or 4 times heavier; cops are carrying subguns, army carry that strange bullpup.

See any Ruger Mini-14s? Seems France uses them a lot for police/.mil work.
