What Is Your Fantasy Wheelgun Remake ?

I wouldn't mind a 6 shot 41mag L frame.
If it couldn't handle it, a 6 shot 10mm would be equally cool I think.

A six-shot .38 like a Colt Detective Special, made by S&W, without the frelling lock.

A six-shot K-frame in .41 Special.

I have two fantasy wheelguns at this early stage of my revolver evolution...

1. A remake of the 3-screw flattop Blackhawk in .44 Special; either 4-5/8 or 5-1/2" barrel. Original action, no transfer bar monkey motion.

2. The S&W Model 327 M&P R8, a Performance Center gun, chambered in .41 Magnum.

8 shots of .41 Mag in that gun would be the ne plus ultra in modern revolvers.

I think an X frame in 357 Maximum would be pretty cool too, now that I'm thinking about it.

Now that thing is dang pretty. Looks like a single action had a love child with a double action.

I have a rossi circuit judge in .22lr/22mag. I would love it if they would make one in .38/.357mag.

I see no reason why a GP 100 can't be a seven shot.

Also don't see why charter can't make a 6 shot j frame in .32 mag or .327 mag.

I would like to have a Colt Python in 44 magnum. Probably never happen. Probably couldn't afford it if it did.

I would like a Ruger GP-100 in 10mm, or, a S&W 610.

New Webley Fosbery's They can keep everything the same, just make some at a reasonable price. Last I saw was $7000. If I every hit the lottery...

S&W Model 13 in 3". Model 65 would be OK too. No internal lock or MIM parts. Hammer mounted firing pin.

I would like to see a S&W American top break made with modern materials to handle 38/357 or 44 special/magnum or both. And it would really be the bees knees if it was an airweight.

Not that it will ever happen but....

I would like Colt to bring back the Anaconda in .41 Magnum, .44 Magnum, and .45 Colt. Of course I also want them to use all the same material call outs and production methods with modern improvements. Retain the same action as well, no need for the complexity of the Python lock work. So no MIM, all forged parts that are then machined to final dimensions. That is just to get started.

In addition to making the guns to the original standards (plus adding a caliber), I would like to see, and would be willing to pay for, a more refined action and more hand fitting. Make these revolvers nice.

While I'm also day dreaming Colt should offer a blued version as well with the best posible bluing they can turn out, and fancy walnut grios. Also for those of us who want a more subdued look or hard use revolver, the stainless guns should have the option of being salt bath nitrided. I'd also love to see chrome lined barrels and chambers.

The front sight should be easily exchanged for different styles and heights, with an assortment included with the revolver. Same for the rear sight blade. The top strap should be drilled and tapped for optics mounting, and Colt should develop and release mounts for popular optics the same time the revolver would be offered.

Barrel lengths of 3", 4", 5.25", 6.5", and 8".

The .45 Colt should also be offered with an accessory. 45ACP cylinder as an option.

As for which ones I'd buy if offered? First would be a 5.25" .44 Magnum, stainless steel with the salt bath nitride and chrome lined barrel and chambers. Then I would slowly acquire other examples as funds allowed.

Colt recently put up a picture on social media where it shows a part of their warehouse cleared out.

The rumor is that this where they'll be making new Colt Pythons that should be released sometime in 2017.

Smith & Wesson Model 12-5, or 312, in .38 SPL +P with Scandium no-lock round butt frame and tapered 2", 3", and 4" inch barrels, and Smith & Wesson Model 313 in .357 Magnum with Scandium (Airlight Model 13 with stainless cylinder instead of titanium) no-lock round butt frame and 3" and 4" heavy barrel.

A top break revolver able to handle .44 mag.

A Ruger flattop 5 shot 45 acp/45 colt convertible that can handle "Ruger only" loads.

A Smith&Wesson Triple Lock in .45 Colt (they made a total of 23). Finest large revolver ever made.

That would be very cool if true, I just wonder if they still have the organizational capacity and knowledge base to bring the Python back. Very complex mechanism, lots of hand fitting involved.

I wish them the best of luck, and hope I can afford one if they get them out.

I also want the Anaconda brought back too!
