M4 mag Molle pouch first use

I just picked up some inexpensive Molle m4 mag pouches. Just to make it easier to store mags. They are hard to get the mags in. I mean really hard. Is it supposed be a tight fit the first go around ? Or is this one of those you get what you pay for times?

Are you putting the magazine in feed lips down?

Yes, they are just too small . Had to fight to pull the mags out today. Using them for holding miscellaneous 22lr supplies.

They are probably inexpensive because they are "seconds" that didn't pass inspection and were rejected by the army.

The pouches I was issued in the Army were always tight. What sometimes helped was taking a magazine, inserted feed lips down, into the pouch and turning. Use the magazine to stretch out the pouch and working up to how many the pouch is designed to hold. IE a double magazine pouch, repeat with 2 magazines. Triple pouch, 3 magazines etc. If this doesn't work you may be SOL. There are tons of cheap made products floating around that aren't made to the specifications they are advertised at.
