Everybody is 'picking up' guns. I am buying them?!

Not a serious post, duh.

Everywhere I now hear people saying they just picked up this or that gun. I wish I could just pick up guns around town and not pay for them. What am I doing wrong?

I watch the sidewalk pretty carefully, but none ever appear. Sometimes I pick one up after I drop it, as it would be silly to leave it lying there for you to find.
True story, I do remember my best friend's older brother found a Beretta .25 cal pistol on the road one day, back in the 80's. He had the sheriff check to see if it was reported stolen, and it came back clean, so he kept it.

I'm concerned with people with a 6 word vocabulary: Awesome, twitter, facebook, totally, trending, and LIKE.

This thread is starting to remind me of those Mag vs Clip threads that run rampant on gun forums.............

Just sayin'......;-)

They say a Glock will go out with just about anyone, so I guess that makes them the tramps of the gun world.

As a Lover/Hater of Glocks, this makes me smile ear to ear...

(Long story long - I absolutely abhor Glocks for what they are - lacking class, style, refinement, and a black hunk of plastic void of any "soul," but I love Glocks for what they do - go bang every time I ask them to, and hit almost everything I ask them. I often wish they just weren't so reliable, durable, and accurate, so I could rid my life of them).

There are many abuses of the English language that offend me more than "picking up" a firearm. Prolly, anyways, shottie, LOL, clip vs. magazine, tactical, "how I roll," "what I run," ignorance of the difference between less and fewer, etc. I consider the source and try to calm down.

Me too! Thats why I buy new guns. They haven't been molested yet. As an aside, I just put the first seven rounds through my virgin Desert Eagle .50, that I 'picked up' at the LGS. After shopping, ordering and paying for it on line.;)
