Ever have a gun "waiting" for you?

S&W 1026 has been waiting on me for over a year at my local shop. I'm trying to be a responsible family man and not spend $450 on another gun. But she's been waiting for a year! How much longer do I have before she finds another, more ardent, suitor?

It wasn't "waiting" at the gun shop for me... I had to track one down on the other end of the country when I finally "came to my senses". Kel Tec Sub2000 in Glock 9mm config. I have been eyeballing these for several years and never took the plunge. But about a month ago I found one in FL that was new and affordable. I couldn't pass it up. Once I get the trigger lightened up a bit, it will be flawless. I love how it fits in my 15" laptop case... along with 4 of the 33 round Glock mags. Great little intermediate combat weapon... to go. The perfect mate for my G26 and G34.

Yep. A chief petty officer I used to work with in OKC mentioned that he had a French rifle he paid $150 and didn't shoot and would sell it to me for what he paid. It was an 8mm Lebel. Sweet gun at a sweet price!

Another time when I lived in OKC, I would honk twice in the garage to let my wife know I was home before coming in the house. Our house had been broken into before when my wife was at home, so she maintained herself ready for intruders after that. I forgot to honk one night and entered the house through the garage door which came into one end of the kitchen. I found myself on the business end of a Ruger P345 with my wife at the ready at the other end of the kitchen. Does that count for having a gun waiting for me?

You bet, and it came home with me yesterday. A NIB CZ P-01. I guess you could say I always wanted it and hoped that it didn't sell because I needed to save up to buy it. I'd go in periodically and make sure it was still there, and yesterday I went in, cash in hand, and bought it.

That's why I try ta avoid gun shops - there's almost ALWAYS one waitin' for me! Picked up a 686 last week at one shop - a buddy with me was looking at it, but said "he wasn't sure". I made an offer on it, they accepted it...he's still kicking himself!
My "new" Randall should be in at my FFL's place Friday - it'll be my 4th. I love 'em - problem is, so do lots of other folks, so ah gotta beat the bushes to find one at a decent price.
Gotta git a bigger safe... ;)

Yep. Orderd my Les Baer .204 about half way through my first deployment and it waited like a well trained labrador at the lgs for months til I got home. My little brother made me send him a copy of the recipt so if I didn't make it home atleast he would have a sweet varmint rifle to remember me by.
