Just as the title says. Have you ever been to your local toy store and there was a gun that you always looked at, always wondered why it wasn't selling, especially if it was a nice piece? And that gun waited until you came to your senses and bought it?
In my local gun shop, there was a nice Browning BDA that had been there every time I went in. It was moved around the used gun case, but never sold. Every time I went left, I told myself I would pick it up nex time if it was still there. Well, months go by, as life gets in the way sometimes, and I found myself back inthe store and lo, the BDA was still there. I asked the owner what he would be willing to take to take the gun off his hands, as I knew it had been there for a while. He picks it up, looks in his books and says "$350 and its yours." This was with a price tag of $450.
Needless to say I could not resist that little charmer. I'll post pics when I pick it up.
Anyone else have a gun wait for them, too?

actualy bought my first 1911 like that. went into my fgs and saw in the 1911 case right up top in front a used parked' springfield armory loaded for $399. i thought to my self "that won't last long." went back a month later and it was still there. took it home with me.

Not a particular gun, but I've wanted a Ruger 10/22 for years now, and finally picked one up a few weeks ago. It wasn't THE gun I had looked at over and over, but it was just like the one in the pictures lol.

I've let a few get away after too many inspections. Was just about ready to buy them, and "poof!"

Usually when I see one I'm going to get, I know it right away, and will make another visit in a day or two to confirm the research I've done meanwhile online and in the library as to details and value. Sometimes I'm back within a couple hours. A local dealer who's known me for years can probably tell by now when I'm serious.

A New Model Blackhawk 357 mag. 6.5 inch barrel.

Almost new 1983 mfg, I'm sure it was a safe queen.

Totally ignored it for a month and about 3 visits. Never even gave it a second glance nor touched it.

One afternoon, my itch to buy another used double action revolver needed to be scratched. Quick phone call to the shop and not single used DA in stock. But there was this stainless BH. Why not? So I bought it sight unseen. Love this BH.

Yes,

I saw a Glock 18. Nobody was buying it. Oh, did I want it. Then I realized that it would probably be waiting for me (and any other civilian for that matter) for the remainder of my natural life. :(

Yep, a Model 19 that I couldn't keep my hands off of every time I went into the pawn shop. I had a Model 65 already on layway but this little 4" 19 was something that just fit and looked so much better. It sat on the shelf for about five weeks and I finally couldn't stand it anymore and put in on layawake. I get it out of layawake this next week and I'm looking forward to seeing how accurate it is.

When I was younger (about 30 years younger) I had a Rem model660 in 350 Rem mag. Times being what they were, I had to sell it.
About ten years ago, I started looking for another one. For four years I searched used gun racks and gun shows, to no avail.
For about the last three of those years, there was a 660 in 6.5 Rem mag at every gun show I attended. I thought about it many times, but held out for a 350.
Finally, I went to a show at the Armory, not expecting to find anything. This is a small show and there is not usually anything interesting. On the back row, there sat a 660. I assumed it was the 6.5 again, but I picked it up and discovered a 350. I fondled it for a while and finally asked " how much?"
To mysurprise the guy said $650.00, a screaming deal to me. But, being a gun show, I had to counter offer $500.00. Of cxourse he rejected the offer.
I was going to go away and come back later, but I turned around and there were three other guys looking and talking about the 350mag and what a great cartridge it is. I figured I had better make a deal and we settled on a price .
Now I would like to find a 6.5 to keep the 350 company. That one is long gone, It just dissappeared. Haven't seen one in five years.

Oh, well........

Yeah DOD, same here, 'poof'...... a used Benelli M2. Bought a new M2 and put money down on a lovely Springfield TRP so it wouldn't disappear.

I literally had one waiting about 30 seconds for me.

I was a new cop and wanted a S&W Model 58 in the worst way.
My friendly gun shop owner ordered one without my knowledge as there was no way I could ever afford one.

I pulled up in front of his store on my motorcycle and parked. His store was my daily coffee stop while on duty. As I walked in the door of the store I saw him running from the rear of the store to the gun cases in the front.

He did something at the gun cases, and the quickly walked away very nonchalantly.

I glanced into the gun case and there was a brand new shiny .41 mag M&P

" Hey, Lou!, What's this?"
"What's what?"
"This new S&W in the case."
"Oh, that? That's a model 58 that showed up a while back"

Yeh, right!! Like I was in that store every day and there had not been a 58 there anytime before.
It was love at first touch.

"I want it!!"

Turns out Lou had got it in that day but knew if he put it out before I got there it would be gone. So he ran and got it when he saw me coming in the door.

I asked if I could put it on lay away. Lou said "NO, but I could take it now and pay for it as I could."

Cost me $81.00 and he donated a box of shells.

I paid it of in 6 months.

Damn I miss ol Lou, but I've still got that Model 58

I bought a M1 Carbine that way. It waited for me 4 months. One day I had some disposable money and bought it. Got it for $350. The owner had put it on consignment because it was having FTFs like none other. But I had faith in it. I took it home, broke it down, and discovered that it was missing the gas piston and piston nut. Placed a order with Numrich, and 3 days later was working beautify.

Saw a pristine used S&W 17 .22, in the store's display case for many months. Eventually, I came around and bought it.

Did it really happen?

I'm not certain, but once there was this nice looking 1911...I would almost swear that it tried to wink at me when the clerk wasn't looking!

The owner of the gun store I used to frequent always seemed to have something waiting for me. I was a truck driver at the time and came in every 6 weeks. At that time there was a three day waiting periiod and, as a result I always had to wait until my next time in to pick up my latest purchase, so you could say I always had something waiting on me since I nearly always purchased something everytime I came home.

A gun waiting for me?......more like it waited 20 years till I could afford to bring it home.

Was shooting our local club combat match .they said next match was a snuby match 2.5 no longer.local shop had a police trade in s@w m19 nickel 2.5in owned by local police chief .went home 200.00 otd:D sweet

Years ago I requested a local gun store to order a Rem. 700, BDL, in .30-06.I waited three weeks, and checked. Nothing. Three more weeks. Still nothing. Gave it four weeks this time....went in to see what was going on.Never ordered the rifle. This was supposed to be compensation for work, so it was not my money, still, I wanted the gun. I looked in the pistol case. There was a nice Colt, Diamondback, .22, (6"). It came home with me and it was the last thing I ever got from that shop. So, I guess you could say that Colt was waiting for me...maybe. :D

Mark.

There's one waiting for me right now.... once my Form 4 clears so I can take it home.

;)

There is always one waiting for me, even if I make payments on it for a few months, I think I have a M1 Garand International Harvester and a Remington 700A 30-06, waiting on me right now, but don’t worry in a couple of weeks it will be something completely different, oh and the 3 AR lowers I ordered.

Had a Winchester ‘94 trapper in 44mag, cross bolt safety (I’m pretty sure unfired till I got it home) wait on me on the used gun rack at the local Gander Mt for a month I finally decided to buy it on the 3rd visit I think I paid $599 plus tax. My wife thinks there is a Texas Rangers special addition Colt 1911 waiting for her for about a year now at our FGS it was $2499. but it has been marked down to $1999. I keep telling her to see if he will take her wedding ring in for trade, but she says no.

Ah Heck! If that was my wife, I'd move heaven and earth to get it for her.

Les Baer

I'm hoping that the Les Baer I have been fondling for a while is still waiting for me this Friday when I will finally have saved enough to take it home.

Kind of.

I had been wanting a Desert Eagle in 50AE. I had one in 357mag but it left me wanting for more.

So I went into my dealer who just happened to have 2 Desert Eagles he put on display. One was a beautiful mint polished blued Desert Eagle in 50AE for 1100 dollars. Too much for me. The other was a parked 44mag with the 10 inch barrel for 699. I still wanted a 50AE.

I then talked to the dealer who has been treating me quite nicely for a long time. He said that he also had another 50AE that he had in he backroom that he was going to put out in 28 days. I looked at it. It was rough (finish wise) but it had magnaported barrel, aftermarket rear sight. 650 dollars. I bought it.

Shoots awesome and I'm still trying to decide how to have the gun refinished.

It appeared to be just waiting in the back room for me.

Every time I go in the gun shop there is one waiting for me....:D

Actually, I have over the past few weeks been considering a gun in the local shop; handled it a few times, kept putting off buying it. Yesterday morning I was in the shop, thought about it, left and later in the day decided to go buy it. Upon my arrival, I found that the gun had gotten tired of waiting, and left with someone else. :cuss:

Oh well, someone got a good deal!
