CZ fan boy, am I crazy?

I very much want a Phantom. No dice, can't find one. Might pick up a p-09 tomorrow. Someone locally finally got them in stock. :)

One of their rifles may be in my future as well.

Here is a quick way to tell if a firearm is one you should keep. Go on GunBroker.com and do a search for let's say a Glock 17 then write down how many are listed. Do the same for the CZ 75 B and write down how many are listed. Make sure that you have only the "Used" box check when preforming these searches. People generally don't get rid of something that works well for them, so this should give you a reasonable idea which handgun most shooters believe is better...

By that same logic, Yugo sedans must be much, much better than Ford pickups.

I like CZ firearms, but the only way I was able to get a 75B was by buying used - so someone was selling one! I enjoy shooting the CZ, but have yet to see a new one in a dealers case locally.

My two CZ rifles both came from Bud's.

Crazy is as crazy does...

Here are most of my CZ's and CZ clones.

Missing from this picture are my SP-01 Phantom (my wife won't give it back), my CZ-82 (I forgot to pull it out of the safe for the picture), and my CZ 912 shotgun (no room).

Pretty, but too new. No vz.52? No vz.50 or 70? And you forgot your vz.82 when you took a family picture? Tsk, tsk. ;)

They point, shoot, and fit my hand like nothing else I have picked up.

That should be the answer right there.

I have friends that CZs fit, point, and shoot like nothing else because they fit them and the quality is excellent. I think they're great handguns, but they don't happen to fit me, still I consider them to be outstanding, if under-appreciated.

My P-01 is second only to my Browning Hi-Power in terms of fitting my hand like a glove.

CZ Crazy?

I must be crazy, too. One of my favorite handguns is a custom CZ-75B, formerly polished SS. After a thoughtful makeover by me and my NC gunsmith, it is a different animal. Using parts and advice from CZCustom.com, we created a very nice weapon and shooter.

To begin, we beadblasted the frame to satin SS finish, Cerakoting the slide with a satin black. Replacing the stock sights, and deleting the front one, we went with a CZ custom optic sight base and slide-racker T-handle. C-more STS red dot helps these old eyes acquire and punctuate the target.

The internals were thoroughly massaged by my gunny, using his action expertise and CZ's SRT trigger and Competition hammer. Shooting 9mm, the experience is pleasurable and addictive :) With CZ Kydex holster, it's a range delight.

Having lots of other makes, this one is special and high on my list of 'shooters.'

I couldn't care less about Gunbroker....I own, shoot, and enjoy both a Glock 17 and a CZ 75B and I don't have to pick one over the other, and they both go in the range bag with me. The CZ is definitely less forgiving of bad grip & stance technique than the Glock. If i do my part I can probably hit targets a little better with the CZ than the Glock, but they are both excellent. The Glock will run every type of factory ammo I have come across, including PPU ammo which is underpowered. But the CZ runs everything I feed it, including WWB. Both guns are totally reliable, but the slight edge here might go to the Glock.

'To each their own..'

You're not crazy - I am! My only handgun is a Hi-Point C9, and the more I shoot it, the more I love it! Don't follow the crowd, it's a free country. (so far..) ;)

Though I've never shot it, I've always had a gut feeling that I would love the P-07 from the first time I've handled one. There was one being advertized for on ArmsList for $420 when I bought my G17 because of Mag compatibility and the price of the Mag. Ah well, some day...

I also want to get either a CZ-82 or a CZ-83 when I can afford it.

Don't buy the P-07 unless you are ready to like your Glock less! I love my G19, and it will always be my go-to because of the fact that it is common and reliable and simple, but it isn't as love inducing and either of my CZs.

The Glock is my Subaru station wagon, I know it's gonna get me anywhere and be cheap and easy to work on if/when it fails. The CZ is my WRX. Harder/more expensive to work on, but dammit if it isn't more fun and twice as good looking.

As much as I love my CZs and as much as I feel they are the best kept secret in the gun world, this statement proves that they sell 100x more Glocks than CZs. More sold new = more sold used. It's all about numbers.

CZ is a fine company second to none. I don't own any myself but I know in European and ME countries they are as popular as the Glock and Beretta. The CZ 82/83 are one of my favorite designs and are built like tanks.

I enjoy shooting the CZ, but have yet to see a new one in a dealers case locally.

That probably has more to do with California than much else. I saw new CZs in 3 handgun counters the past couple of weeks here, but then we probably have far more handgun counters here than available in much bigger cities in California because the firearms communities are so different.

CZ-75B SA. Second to none, and fits me better than most anything I've ever tried.

That's not crazy, that's smart.

Too bad the prices went up on them, though.
