my buddy found this while deer hunting in Eastern PA.
This one wouldn't have made it if we hadn't found him in time. He had flown into the barbed wire fence and then spun/wrapped around it, digging the barbs into his axillary. We were able to cut the fence and took him to a wild animal rescue. 3 weeks later, he flew away.

Reminds me of family reunion years ago when we had kid go "hunting" in the woods with his BB gun. He came back all excited because he had killed a deer. After much persuasion his dad went into the woods only to find a deer with her back legs hung up in old fence and shot many many times with a BB gun. This one wouldn't have made it if we hadn't found him in time.
