I'm trying to take the bolt apart from a 722. It breaks down pretty similarly to a 700 bolt, at least so far.
The thing is gunked up well enough from age and I'd like to get it fully apart to clean. The cross pin isn't drifting out with a hammer and punch like they do in the several 700 bolt videos I've watched.
My question is basic - is there a direction to it or do I just have to wait for more soaking time in penetrating oil? Or maybe put it in a sonicator (I've got one)? If yes, any particular solvent?
It's part 18 in this Rem 700 diagram:
