What guns have you carried?

Not counting the sidearms I carried in the military the first handgun I personally bought as a dedicated CC was a Walther PPK/S in a OWB DeSantis holster. I bought it at my LGS in 1995 and it was my EDC for many years. The last pistol I bought for CC was a S&W 637. I actually bought that for my wife but she didn't care for it and remained true to her Bersa .380. The 637 is basically my EDC now but I do rotate it out with a Ruger LCRx 3" .38 SP and a LCR in .327 Fed Magnum. As I don't like a lot of weight on my hip those three are a comfortable fit for me.
I have a wide range of other carry options, revolvers & autoloaders, available to me but they are either large caliber revolvers dedicated for range use, are to heavy or uncomfortable for me to carry or are part of a growing collection of older Smith's that I have been putting together for the past several years that I hope to pass on to my son and grandson.

I always circle back to some or other .38 snub. My needs involve presenting a well-dressed appearance without any obvious weaponry. My revolver shooting resume is Colt, Ruger, Smith and Wesson and Taurus. I recommend them in just that order.

When on my own time I sometimes carry the best .45 ACP pistol ever invented in the last century, which is of course the SIG P220.

I carry or carried the following; Charter Arms Bulldog 44 special, NAA Mini magnum, Ruger Sp101 357 magnum, Beretta 21A 22LR, Ruger P95 9mm, or Ruger LCP 380 ACP. Often there will be a 9mm with a spare mag in the car and a pocket pistol on me throughout the day. The Sp101 ususally stays in a gear bag when I'm working alarm response calls.

In the eighties and early nineties, when I was on the job:

(first agency): S&W M67 as a duty sidearm, and Charter Arms Undercover as a second gun, as well as off-duty. Also carried a Grendel P10 OD a lot.

(second agency): Ruger P85 as a duty sidearm, and Walther PPK/S as a second/BU gun.

I stopped carrying when I left the profession in the early nineties, and didn't start again until 2008.

Since then:

Bersa Thunder 380. Had sold the Walther, and regarded this as a close substitute.

Kel-Tec PF9, purchased on a whim in 2010. Lighter, flatter, and with more power than the Bersa.

Kel-Tec P32, as a deeper-conceal gun, and a second gun.

Any of three older Charter Arms Undercover revolvers, one of which is the one mentioned above (purchased the day I was sworn in) and another of which was my dad's, when nostalgia draws me to a "steel wheel."

NAA mini-revolver in .22LR, as a second (or third!) gun, but usually only when hiking.

A few others have been carried "every now and then", but never with any regularity. These include a Taurus PT-22, Ruger Police Service Six (my dad's duty sidearm), Ruger P95, and Bulgarian Makarov ('cause Commie-Bloc surplus guns are cool.)

EDIT: I forgot about the newly-acquired Taurus TCP currently in my pocket.

An impossible undertaking, since I have carried virtually daily for over 42 years. And I tend to be promiscuous with my handguns. Everything from scandium Smith 44 mags to Beretta 22 shorts, and everything in between, inclung a few exotics like a pair of Boberg 9s. Most I still own, unless "borrowed" by my child-bride or daughters. Current daily carry are a pair of Smith 43c DAO 22s, one on my belt and one in my pocket.

The first was a S&W model 36 when I worked in Watts in the 1960s just after the 1965 Watts riots until I left in 1969. I lost it in a burglary in the 1980s. That left me with only a 2 shot derringer as the only concealable gun I owned.

Once I moved to Arizona, I carried a Llama Micro-Max for a few months until I acquired another model 36. Now days it’s an assortment of model 37s.

Nowhere the number or variety of some of you gentlemen.

My first defensive handgun purchased specifically for concealed carry was a S&W 4013. I still have and carry it. Others I have carried include:
Kel-Tec P32
Ruger LCP
Kel-Tec P11
S&W 3913
Glock 27
Glock 23
Ruger SP101
Ruger GP100 (3-inch)
Charter Arms Bulldog

1. S&W Model 10, Royal Hong Kong Police
2. S&W 915
3. Arsenal Makarov
4. Sig Sauer P225
5. Browning Hi-Power
6. Kahr CM9
7. Taurus TCP
8. North American Arms Mini-Revolver, .22 LR
9. Beretta Model 21, .22 LR

My first 3 that I qualified with was a Russian Makarov, a Star Firestar (45), and a .357 4" S&W M66. Still have the 66, the others are long gone. More recently I carry a Kimber Compact CDP, a SA XDS or a 4" XD.

I don't carry outside the home often, only a few days a month (it is nearly impossible to get a CCW permit in MD, though I am in DE and VA often and carry when outside MD on a non-resident UT permit, and soon I'll get a non-resident NH permit so I can carry in PA again, and I'm there quite a bit). I do often carry around the apartment for quick home defense. There are only slight differences in what I have in my holster at home v. when out of state where I can carry. I have been a part-time carrier (outside the home) for some years now, and I've carried at home for 15-17 years now.

I've gone through several options that I don't carry anymore:

-My S&W 65LS has been carried a little in a cheap Uncle Mikes IWB holster early on. I love the gun, it was my 1st .357mag, it is in great condition, and it is out of production so I don't really like carrying it anymore (I'm afraid something may happen to it). I also prefer carrying guns that aren't too expensive ($600 and under) just in case. I do still sometimes load it up for home defense (though I don't carry it at home since I don't have a good holster for it)
-My S&W 1911PD. I love 1911s and it is a Lightweight Commander sized gun. I stopped when I started only carrying guns with no safety and a DA 1st shot. It is also expensive for carry (for me).
-Bersa Thunder. Sold it years ago, too big for a .380.
-Taurus 85CH. I go for larger capacity most of the time now
-S&W 442. Capacity is too low
-Ruger LCP. Capacity and I prefer a larger caliber
-Taurus PT 140 Millennium Pro. It hasn't worked in years. Before that it lost the rear site (since replaced)

Bought with carry (partially) in mind but never carried: (some had some carry at home only)

-2" Rossi 461. Had issues early on and I don't really shoot it much or trust it as a result.
-3" Rossi 461. Due to the issues with the 2" it will need far more testing before I trust it.
-Ruger KP345. It wasn't reliable and I sold it once I got it working
-CZ 40B. Great gun, shouldn't have sold it, never had a carry permit while I owned it.
-Taurus 605. Great gun, but I never had a permit while I had it.
-SIG P229 (.40S&W). Loved it, but sold it when money was tight. Never carried it, always went smaller (PT140 or 85CH) the few times I carried when I had it
-Kel Tec Pf-9. Not quite as reliable as I'd like for carry. Not as comfortable to shoot as my other micro-9 (SIG P290RS). When I might carry it, I find myself carrying the SIG P290RS instead. I think I actually carried the Pf-9 on a VA day trip all of one time.

Bought with carry in mind but not yet ready to be carried:

-CZ P01. This is my newest gun and needs another range trip or two before I carry it (1st carry will probably be in a few weeks).
-S&W M&P40c. Bought it this weekend from Buds, once it gets to my FFL I have a week long MD "cooling off period" before I can get it. I suspect that once it gets a few hundred rounds through it, the S&W and CZ P01 will see almost all my carry time.

Current carry guns:

-SIG P290RS. I now like larger guns with higher capacity, but I love this gun and can't bring myself to retire it.
-SIG P250 Compact (.45ACP): Love it, great size. I often carry it at home and when visiting a state where I can carry. It may get retired for the CZ P01 and S&W M&P above for the greater ammo capacity in roughly the same size (P01) or smaller (M&P).
-S&W 625MG (.45LC): I rarely carry it out of the house (too big and heavy) but I do carry it sometimes (in an OWB holster and sometimes in a Galco Summer Comfort IWB). I often carry it at home or have it loaded for home defense in a quick access safe. Outside the home it gets the most use when camping in the woods.

Most likely to buy for carry in the future:

-3" S&W 686 Plus. Love revolvers, a medium frame 3" revolver is terrific for carry, I love the 7 round capacity (I prefer higher capacity these days, and that is nearly as good as it gets for a carryable revolver).

Edit: I missed at least one:

I also had a NAA Guardian in .32ACP for a couple years. I think it made it to VA in a cheap Uncle Mike's pocket holster once or twice. I carried it at home a lot since I can easily empty my pockets at home and carry it around. I never really trusted the caliber and sold it about a year before I replaced it with the LCP.

Wow, 20 guns on my list, with one more to buy...

I carried the Taurus 85CH the most of all my guns, often pairing it carried IWB with the 442 in a pocket holster, though that ended a few years ago when I got my SIG P290RS (which I've since "replaced" with the P250 since I like more capacity/capability). I am selling all my snubs but the 3" Rossi (and it may go too if I never get to where I trust it). I might keep one (probably the Taurus since I've had it longest and I actually like it a bit) in case MD ever gets forced to be a shall issue state by a court case or in case I do eventually move to PA or VA (I almost moved to PA this summer, but in the end I decided that the commute to work would have been too long: 1 to 1 1/2 hours in the morning, around 2 hours in the afternoon). I can see the utility of a snub and pocket holster to drop in a pocket while running a short errand and you don't want to get totally set up. Then again, my P290 could handle that duty just as well.

I think I finally have what will be my fairly permanent carry combo and will even suit me if I ever live in a state where I can carry pretty much full-time (except to work since I'm a teacher):
My S&W M&P40c and CZ P01 will probably see about 90% of my carry time. Once in a while when in the mood for something different I'll probably carry the .45ACP SIG P250 Compact or one of the revolvers (the future 686, the 625MG, and the 3" Rossi should I ever trust it). I'll keep the P290RS and maybe the Taurus 85CH for very rare pocket carry (I don't really like pocket carry). I am selling my LCP, Kel Tec Pf-9, and the snubs (with the possible exception of the Taurus 85CH).

Charter Arms Undercover in 38; Colt Police Positive aslo in 38; Colt Trooper in .357 (in a shoulder holster); Colt 1917 in .45; and a Springfield Arms 1911 in 45. All are long gone except the Charter. And no I never got rid of on cause I coldn't hit with them

All of these have been or currenguns are my carry guns:

Glock 17
Glock 19
Glock 26
S&W 642
S&W 64 2"
S&W 37
S&W Shield
CZ P-07
CZ P-01
CZ Rami
Ruger LCPII
Seecamp RWS32
KEL-TEC P32

I've carried - uh - several.

Mostly, I've carried (and still do) some version or variant of the Colt Government Model. Mostly in .45 ACP, but two in Super .38. I had a 9x19 barrel and slide for the full size steel frame pistol AND for the Commander size alloy frame pistol. Those pistols were all commercial Colts or G. I. surplus models. I currently carry a LW Commander (Colt) in .45 Awfulmatic. I'm not sure I can total them all at the moment as the tally stretches back some forty-five years (give or take). What ever else I try, I seem to move back to the Browning design.

Due to occupational requirements, I've also carried a number of revolvers. Mostly S&W in either .38 Special or .357 Magnum; a .44 Magnum for a time. These revolvers ranged from five shot Chief Specials (I've owned four at least) to two inch M&P Hand Ejectors to four inch full size revolvers and one cut off revolver just forward of the barrel lug. Two Ruger Security Six revolvers, one four inch and one two and one-half inch. By order of those who must be obeyed, I carried a Glock 17 for a couple years. It was okay, but I don't own a Glock and do not plan on owning any.

And some odd guns for various reasons, some forgotten. A Star BKM (9x19 with alloy frame), a Beretta Jetfire (.25 ACP), a Colt 1903 Pocket Pistol (.32 ACP) and a cut down M1917 S&W (.45 ACP) revolver.

And a couple which I seem to have suppressed the memories from embarrassment.

No derringers, no 'inexpensive' brands, no cap and ball guns, no single shots.

So far, in the years I've carried, I've carried two firearms. A Colt Diamondback .38 spec. 4" and a S&W mod 4553 TSW, .45 acp.
Compared to some of you guys...hardly even worth mentioning. lol

I don't think my list is too long. I'll list in the order I got them.

1) Glock 23. Only did that once, and realized why they were called Blocks. It became a nightstand gun until I sold it
2) Ruger LCP. Rear and front pocket carry, and is still used quite often. It just disappears
3) S&W 337. SUPER lightweight, but I never could get over having that hammer for pocket carry. I used it for a few years, but it's in the safe now.
4) NAA .22lr. I may get flamed for carrying this, but it's what's in my pocket around the house and yard. I don't really leave my property with it though.
5) SIG P938. I can't believe how well I shoot with this tiny gun. If I take the time to put on an IWB holster, this is the gun I take
6) S&W 442. Replaced the 337 for pocket carry. The trigger isn't as good (yet), but I love the snag-free design. I find I carry my LCP much less now that I have this gun.

How do you like the Simply Rugged Pancake? They seem popular enough that I'm sure it is great when worn as a pancake. Do you have the belt loops? I'm wondering how it would work when converted to IWB as I've been considering that for a few of my guns that I might consider carrying both IWB and on the belt (1 holster for both would be nice).

I'll pm you so we don't get off topic for this thread.

Colt Delta Elite. First gun I carried was OC, and in the Hiawatha National Forest, when on vacations. 1980s.

H&K USP45C. After Michigan became shall issue, this was my first buy, after what I thought was an exhaustive process of investigation for the perfect CCW.

Kimber Ultra CDP, .45 ACP. This became my primary CCW after figuring out I made a mistake with the HK, and being a 1911 guy, deciding to go with a light, compact 1911. Been carrying it now for 14 years.

Taurus PT-22. Bought for the wife as an experiment, since she couldn't rack a slide. Carried it as BUG a few times.

KelTec P-32. Bought this as BUG to my primary, and serves as everything gun. Always on me, if law allows.

Glock 26. Biking gun. Good, easy one-handed operation.

Glock 29. Woods gun. Replaces the gorgeous Colt Delta Elite, and gives it a well-deserved spot in the safe.

KelTec PLR-16. Carried only once, in a REAL bad neighborhood.
