I have the side mount scope plate on my gun and want to take it off but need the 3 original screws to replace . I can not identify the screws by part # on any of the drawings I have seen . Does anyone have the part #'s and know of anyplace I can buy them ? Thanks......

by the way the gun is a 1957 ......I bought it used in 1975....great deer gun for the brush

I'm not sure, but are those screw holes original to the gun, or was the receiver drilled and tapped too mount the scope? If the latter, you would need to find appropriate fill screws, just to plug the holes.

screws were removed......by me....and lost...by me....the screws came with the plate and are to long....guess I could cut them down

Ok. Seeing you have the mount screws figure out the size and check some local gunshops or Brownells. I've read that some Ace Hardware stores have "gun screws" in their specialty fastener area.

That is true about Ace Hardware but they are at the same time anti gun and have signs at the door prohibiting guns. Talk about mixed messages. 30-40 years ago you could take the gun into the store to find your screws but today the swat team would be called out.
